Winning a street fight against Dakota Kai was not enough for Raquel Gonzalez tonight. After powerbombing Kai onto a trash can, she’d grab the microphone and call the champ out! She wasn’t leaving the ring until the champion showed up. With a ring full of weapons, Mandy Rose would have a chance to shut up her loudest challenger before closing out the year.
Mandy Rose Plans On Taking Out Both Cora Jade & Raquel Gonzalez At New Years Evil
Instead, Cora Jade would hit the ring. She knows Gonzalez wants Mandy Rose, Cora Jade has a claim as well. At NXT Wargames – they tried to end her career. Jade knows Rose is scared of her, and Gonzalez knows how tough Jade is… but it’s every woman for herself. She doesn’t care who gets in her way on the way back to the NXT Women’s Championship.
Rose would appear in a big swimming pool. She knows both challengers are envious of her, of what she did for the division. At New Years Evil – she plans on beating both of them in a triple threat… and they get an ass whooping tonight. Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne got into the ring, sent Cora Jade out of the ring onto her bad arm – and sent Gonzalez right through a table.
Grizzled Young Veteran Use Experience To Get Edge Over Creed Brothers
The NXT 2.0 tag team division is in a great spot right now, but we saw at NXT: WarGames that it will take a truly special team to defeat Imperium and become champions. Tonight, The Creed Brothers & The Grizzled Young Veterans will clash in a match that could help to determine who gets the next shot. It’s raw skill and power vs. experience and street smarts here, and could go either way!
Julius would start with Gibson, and quickly looked to take him down. A big fireman’s carry took him down, before Brutus got the tag – and was suplexed by his brothers onto Gibson. Another quick tag saw Gibson hit with some snap Fireman’s Carrys. Drake would save Gibson from a hard whip into the corner, and got the tag in to take control of the match.
A jumping elbow in the corner would set up a tag to Gibson, who would follow up a spinning wheel kick from his partner for a two count. Drake tagged back in, but was met by Brutus Creed. Some big knee strikes to the midsection was followed by a deadlight gutwrench bomb for a two count. Gibson broke up the pinfall and ran the destruction. A blind tag from Drake to Gibson and a combo backbreaker on the floor would do some serious damage.
The Tag Team Division Brawls
At this time, Jacket Time would make their way to ringside with a box as we hit a commercial break. They’ve had issues with Grizzled Young Veterans recently, and a win last week wasn’t the end of their issues. Back from the break, Gibson was still in control of the match, but it seems KUSHIDA & Ikeman Jiro were here to do Japanese commentary. Drake would tag in and hit a big elbow to the jaw of Brutus.
Now, Briggs & Jensen would hit ringside – just about the whole division is now around or in the ring. Brutus would launch Drake away before Julius made a great hot tag ending in a huge dropkick. A tag to Brutus and a powerslam would get a two count, before Gibson pulled him outside for the suicide dive from Drake. Jacket Time would try to protect their table before Creed Brothers were shoved into them. This one exploded into a huge brawl, with the match being thrown out.
