This Sunday at AEW Revolution, MJF will meet CM Punk in a Dog Collar match. We’ve only seen one in AEW prior to this – when Cody Rhodes defeated Mr. Brodie Lee. However, last week – we saw a different version of MJF. He’d wear his heart on his sleeve, and cut one of the best babyface promos AEW has ever seen. MJF bared his soul and explained to everyone that professional wrestling is what kept his life in order.
CM Punk Doesn’t Know What To Make Of MJF After Last Week
CM Punk doesn’t doubt that MJF told the truth last week. However, he doesn’t know how sincere it all is. MJF has done vile things in AEW, as he punched Dean Malenko in the face, trashed Brian Pillman, and used Darby Allin’s late uncle to try and hurt him. Punk knows MJF is a scumbag, but at the very least he knows that MJF is human now.
To have a chance to clarify things, CM Punk wants MJF to come out to the ring and talk to him. MJF would come out without the aid of his music – and Punk admits he used to be like MJF. He poured alcohol down an alcoholic’s throat, bathed men in the ashes of their fathers, and mocked an addict until they lost their job. However, people can change. CM Punk changed, and MJF can too.
He knows that somewhere there is a fan watching MJF like he did CM Punk, someone who looks up to MJF. CM Punk asks himself if he’s the good guy in 2022, and he sure is trying. They’d hug it out in the ring, but MJF had gotten CM Punk right where he wanted him for a low blow. Heatseeker would follow.
Wardlow & Shawn Spears came to the ring with the Dog Collar, and FTR would hold security back. A bloody CM Punk was thrown out of the ring, before Spears put the Dog Collar on. MJF called Punk a stupid old man, and said that this Sunday that he’s the devil himself. Sammy Guevara, Sting & Darby Allin saved Punk tonight – but he’s on his own on Sunday.
Thunder Rosa Proves She Can Beat The Champion
This Sunday at AEW Revolution, Thunder Rosa has a chance to be the one to end the reign of Britt Baker as AEW World Women’s Champion. She’s got as good of a chance as anyone to take down Baker, having been the one to win their now infamous Light’s Out match.
However, tonight she will team with Mercedes Martinez – who earned respect for Rosa after some hard hitting brawls. Baker is bringing Jamie Hayter to back her up tonight, and the hope is that she can stop Rosa before the title even gets into the mix.
This one kicked off fast with a brawl, with Rosa getting her hands on Baker in the middle of the ring. Rosa hit a double knee strike in the corner, before tagging in the veteran Martinez. Baker got a slingblade on Martinez for a two count, before Hayter got the tag.
Hayter would be able to keep control of Rosa and get her isolated in the wrong corner. Rosa would get control with a knee strike before applying a stretch in the middle of the ring. Martinez tagged in and nailed an exploder suplex. Baker would get the tag and hit a slow superkick, before Rosa got the tag.
Death Valley Driver landed for Rosa, before Fire Thunder Driver in the middle of the ring saw Rosa pin Britt Baker in the middle of the ring.
