Darby Allin has been a thorn in the side of Matt Hardy for so long, that now he’s become an ally. As mutual enemies of the Andrade Family Office, it was no shock when he came to the aid of Matt & Jeff Hardy this past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. Now, he’s got a date with the faction’s powerhouse – The Butcher.
Darby Allin Tries To Cut The Butcher Down To Size
Allin would be dwarfed by Butcher in size, and the skills of the tag team specialist aren’t to be underestimated. Butcher was slammed with forearm strikes and Coffin Splashes – before Allin was rushed into the corner. Body shots would follow, before Allin was shoved right to the outside.
Butcher would kick at Allin as he tried to get back into the ring, before Allin lured him outside and nailed a dive through the ropes. Allin went for a Springboard Coffin Drop off the ropes, only to be caught in a back breaker. Butcher would drag Allin around the ring before stomping his chest.
Allin shoved Butcher into a corner, before a massive lariat turned Allin inside out. He’d spin Allin around the ring by his neck, before another big lariat on the outside. Sting would check on Allin, but Butcher got right up in his face.
Into the ring, Butcher maintained control with some charging splashes into the corner, and a lariat would follow. Allin would look for the shotgun dropkick, only for Butcher to block into a Texas Cloverleaf. Butcher turned it into a powerbomb without letting go of the hold – before reapplying pressure.
Allin got the bottom rope, only to be taken outside and powerbombed into the ring post. Butcher would miss a knee strike and get the steel steps, before a Code Red and a Coffin Drop to the floor. Butcher would stay down on the floor, and this one was over.
Andrade would come out, before Private Party & Blade attacked. The Hardy Brothers made the save – and it looks like an eight man tag team match has been set up.
Leyla Hirsch Takes Fight To Red Velvet
Leyla Hirsch threw Red Velvet to the side recently, when she turned heel. Red Velvet got a small amount of revenge for she stopped Hirsch from cheating her way into a shot at the AEW World Women’s Championship, and now they will clash on AEW Rampage. Both are ranked in the Top 5, and a win tonight could determine the first challenger of Thunder Rosa.
Hirsch would meet Velvet on the ramp, and look for a German Suplex. Velvet turned things around and nailed a suplex. Back in the ring, a knee to the spine and standing moonsault got Velvet a near fall. Hirsch took some downward punches before slipping out and tripping Velvet up.
Velvet got choked on the bottom rope, before some clubbing blows to the back. The kicks of Hirsch would slam off the back of Velvet, before Hirsch looked to set up the armbar. Velvet fought back with some lariats before a short bulldog for a near fall.
Hirsch would catch a kick into a Capture Suplex, before a deadlift German Suplex. Armbar was attempted, but Velvet got the ropes. On the outside, Hirsch tried to grab a turnbuckle support – but Kris Statlander stopped her before a corkscrew kick got Velvet the win!
Will Hirsch get payback on Statlander? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
