Camilla has generated health fears after cancelling her planned trip to Cheltenham Festival. The Duchess of Cornwall who is reportedly a strong supporter of horse racing was scheduled to present the cup to the champions of The Queen Mother Champion Chase but will now miss the Cheltenham Festival and a few upcoming engagements due to health challenges.
Camilla Won’t Attend The Cheltenham Festival Due To Health Issues
A royal correspondent, Richard Palmer confirmed via Twitter that the 76-year-old cancelled her trip due to health concerns. He wrote, “The Duchess of Cornwall had been due to attend the Cheltenham Festival today but she has pulled out. It’s understood she is trying to pace herself as she recovers from the bout of COVID-19 she had last month.

She had looked as if she was struggling at an engagement yesterday.” Camilla made her last public appearance yesterday when she escorted Prince Charles to the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith, West London. The trip which was made in honour of the 25th anniversary of the centre, saw the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall being engaging in a handful of joyful activities.
The couple joined a crew performing Irish music and learnt how to play the traditional bodhrán drum and the Prince of Wales was also taken through a demo on how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness. The royal couple also watched dancers performing local dances and launched a tablet marking their passage.
Later in the day, the couple received Canada’s Governor-General, Mary Simon, and her husband Whit Fraser at the Clarence House before the Canadian diplomat and her husband met with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle. Camilla’s health has been thrown into question in recent weeks.
In a recent tweet, royal correspondent Rebecca English said that “She has been coughing a bit on recent engagements, I’ve noticed, and has said several times that she is struggling to entirely shake it off.” For now, many royal fans are hopeful that she overcomes her health challenge very soon and go back to her duties.
