Former UFC strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk may once have shared a gym with Colby Covington, but she is no fan of “Chaos”. Ahead of Covington’s hotly anticipated grudge match against Jorge Masvidal, Joanna Jedrzejczyk is thrilled at the prospect of seeing Colby succumb to their shared teammate.
On The Fighter vs The Writer, Joanna Jedrzejczyk predicted a surprise knockout win for Jorge Masvidal over the #2 ranked welterweight in the world.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk Blasts Chaos Covington: “You have empty pockets and you’re trying to act like a king”
“I am very, very excited. Colby is a great athlete, and what I remember from back in the day, that he was always training on the mat. When the training was done after one and a half hours, he was doing an extra one and a half hours with Jorge Masvidal.
Actually, I had this conversation with [someone] the other day, how crazy it was that they were friends. They were always together. Now you see all these promo videos, they were cornering each other. Now they’re the biggest rivals.
It’s a tough fight for both of them, but I really have a feeling that Jorge Masvidal will surprise again like he did with Darren Till or Ben Askren.”
Jedrzejczyk went on to point out that much of Colby’s Donald Trump-loving heel persona is an act, and a deplorable one at that. The “worst thing about Colby”, she says, is that he’s a big old phony. “The worst thing about Colby, most of the things he said [and] said he’s done isn’t true.
The way he was acting after he won the interim belt, like all the old man opening the door for him, him having a driver, these girls, these b*tches around him, walking to our American Top Team.
It wasn’t true. Why are you acting like Conor McGregor [and then] saying bad things about Conor McGregor? There is only one Conor McGregor.
So don’t call names on him and you’re trying to act like him. You have empty pockets, and you’re trying to act like a king. You can’t do these things. You can’t tell lies.”
This fight is a huge deal for the American Top Team community, almost all of whom have a grudge against Colby Covington dating back to his removal from the gym. Jorge Masvidal, training hard in South Florida, has the support of “the ATT army”.
“It’s a super important fight for all of us but he has the ATT army behind his back. Because Colby, he didn’t make a good impression when he was leaving.
You can’t burn the bridges. Karma is bad, and I hope that Colby will have a strong ass when it [bites] him.” Do you think Masvidal will get his knockout win and vengeance against Colby Covington? Let us know in the comments.
