Nate Diaz, Marvin Vettori, and comedian Shane Gillis walk into a bar. That’s not the setup to a joke, but the beginning of a story Gillis told on YouTube about the time he saw Nate Diaz throw down in public.
Gillis is reportedly a huge fight fan, and a huge fan of Nate Diaz. One night, after a show with standup comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan, Gillis had the chance to meet Nate Diaz and hang out with him. Chaos, somewhat predictably, ensued.
How Nate Diaz Got Into A Street Fight Feat. Marvin Vettori
“Bro….Bro… Nobody on earth is better than Nate Diaz. So I did a show with Rogan, Rogan brought me out there. We did Irvine again but he had to do UFC at Anaheim the next day.
Bro… I love Nate Diaz so much. This is my only chance to hang out with him. He’s the nicest dude ever. I walked in and it was him shotgunning a f**king seltzer. As soon as I walked in he said ‘get that motherf**ker one also.”
Unfortunately, Nate Diaz’s turn as “the nicest dude ever” was short-lived. A muscle-bound member of the public decided to mouth off to Nate Diaz, and was summarily punished for it with a front kick.
“We walked outside and he front kicked a stranger. Got into a fight with a stranger immediately. Everybody that comes up, like lets get a picture, [Diaz] says ‘yea f*ck you’. And one dude walked up that was jacked.
And Nate Diaz was immediately ‘you want to run up on us?’ As soon as Nate called him out the dude is like ‘what’s up’, Diaz is like ‘what’s up’. Nate connected on this dude’s hip and he just flew everywhere.”
That was the end of the fight, but not the end of the night. Marvin Vettori, UFC middleweight, was in the entourage that evening, and hosted a party at his AirB&B. “Marvin Vettori was with us also, he’s a beast, the Italian, he’s a monster, he just got done fighting Izzy.
When we went back to his house, like it was an AirB&B, 8 dudes, all they had was a shitty laptop plugged into a shitty TV that was just blasting rap music.”
We doubt that was the first time Nate Diaz dished out some punishment in public, but we’re surprised he didn’t deliver the Stockton slap. What do you think of Nate Diaz’s street fighting antics? Let us know in the comments.
