It is no secret that Kanye did not see eye-to-eye with the comedian by virtue of the fact that he is dating his ex Kim Kardashian.
And given that Kanye had made his intention to get back together with Kim, he has not taken things too well by seeing Pete get one over him.
This may explain why he decided to release the music video, but for Kanye, it was something much more than that. He defended the video on the basis that it was his right as an artist to use freedom of speech.
As such, regardless of how unpopular or offensive something could be, people had a choice to either ignore it or respond in kind. In a post to his fans on Instagram, he shared a picture of a church.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Art is therapy just like this view. Art is protected as freedom of speech. Art inspires and simplifies the world.
“Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm. Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended.” Despite what Kanye has said, reports indicate that the video did create a reaction.
Kim had apparently been very upset by it all, meanwhile, Pete had allegedly found the whole thing hilarious. Irrespective of what Kanye was hoping to get out of this, one thing it does demonstrate is that Pete and Kim are clearly on his mind.
And this was reflected by the comments that followed on social media. A significant proportion of people felt that Kanye needed to move on with his life and his continual insistence on referring to what his ex is doing with Pete only demonstrated a man that was desperate.
One person wrote: “He always back tracking when that heat get on him! He know exactly what’s he is doing and Ye need to stop it ASAP!!”
