For the back end of the New Japan Cup tour, SHO has been haunting El Desperado. He wants a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, and has been unable get a pinfall victory to seal the deal. SHO gets one last shot tonight, as he teams with Yujiro Takahashi to face Desperado & TAKA Michinoku.
SHO Blindsides And Humiliates El Desperado
Before the match, SHO would wander off to the back, potentially leaving Yujiro Takahashi in a handicap match. He’d actually just sneak behind Desperado & Taka, and also got his trusty wrench.
Right into the ring after a hit with the cane, Yujiro would nail Taka with Big Juice before the bell even rang. The referee would refuse to call for the bell and got bullied into actually doing it. SHO would apply Snakebite, and Yujiro made El Desperado watch.
After the bell, SHO would yank the mask of Desperado off and threw it aside. Crossarmed piledriver would follow, and Desperado might need to give SHO his shot to get a proper set of revenge after this cowardly action.
United Empire Defeat And Humiliate Bishamon
Will Ospreay is claiming that he was screwed by Red Shoes Uno during his quarter finals match against Zack Sabre Jr, and will preach to anyone who will answer. Tonight, he’s got all the United Empire in his corner for a eight man tag team match. Two tag teams will unite to face them, with Great Bash Heel & Bishamon here for a fight.
Cobb is trying to get under the skin of Bishamon by calling them “Fishermen”, and is really angling for a title shot. Sadly, they’re not taking the bait. United Empire would attack before the bell, and Henare would look for a fast finish with Streets of Rage on Makabe.
Ospreay would make the tag, mostly just talking some trash. Henare would hit some heavy punches on Makabe, a man he once wanted to be his mentor. Makabe would have an achilles lock applied, but made the bottom rope. Great-O-Khan would hit some chops, before Makabe hit a big lariat. He’d complete the tag to YOSHI-HASHI, and Goto would help to cut down United Empire one at a time. Cobb would be beaten like a drum, before being tripped up and drug outside and tossed into the apron.
Back in the ring, Cobb would take a dropkick to the knee, before tagging out to Honma. Everyone would work on cutting Cobb down for Kokeshi, before Rocket Kokeshi would be caught.
Spincycle would follow, and Tour of the Islands would be blocked as Honma stopped on the ropes. Honma would fight back with some heabutts and lariats, before stumbling into the Tour of the Islands – ending this match.
After the match, United Empire would humiliate the IWGP Tag Team Champions – and much like El Desperado, they might have no choice. It’s defend, or lose your honor.
