Fans are excited to see another technical masterpiece from Zack Sabre Jr. & Great-O-Khan, but first we have some undercard tag team action to get us there. ZSJ is bringing El Desperado & TAKA Michinoku, while Great-O-Khan has one of ZSJ’s greatest rivals in Will Ospreay, and Aaron Henare is here too.
The United Empire Get Another Six Man Tag Team Win
ZSJ & Great-O-Khan would start this match off, and some great grappling would follow. While back in the fall of 2021, ZSJ was the winner – Great-O-Khan has improved vastly since then. ZSJ would apply the Cobra Twist, and Great-O-Khan had no issue breaking free. However, ZSJ has even less issues grabbing another submission – until he got isolated by Henare & Ospreay for a kick to the face.
Ospreay would take his boots to ZSJ, not giving a chance to end up in a submission. Henare would continue the beatdown of ZSJ steady, before allowing Great-O-Khan back into the match. ZSJ would finally kick his way to a tag, before Will Ospreay met El Desperado – and got driven into the mat with a spinebuster.
Ospreay would shoot back with a spinning backbreaker, before Henare & TAKA got tags. ZSJ would grab O-Khan on the floor with an ankle lock, and in the ring – Henare would be taken into the Just Face Lock – only for O-Khan to get free and look for the Eliminator. Ospreay & Desperado would get into the mix, before Henare dropped TAKA with Streets Of Rage for the win.
On the floor, ZSJ & Great-O-Khan would be tied up in a submission and the referees and young lions had to force them apart. On March 17th, they will meet in the Third Round of the New Japan Cup.
Los Ingobernables De Japon Take Aim At House of Torture
Despite having been on the bad end of the assault of Minoru Suzuki, Hiromu Takahashi made it to the third round of the New Japan Cup. EVIL is up next, and ahead of that Los Ingobernables De Japon will get to get some revenge on their former friend and his House of Torture allies.
House of Torture would attack before the bell, but SANADA would tie up both SHO & Dick Togo with the Paradise Lock before a double dropkick. SHO would get BUSHI in the corner with a boot to the throat before Togo was able to nail the fist drop in the middle of the ring. BUSHI would catch Takahashi with a DDT – and EVIL & Hiromu took the ring.
Hiromu would get SHO lined up and kicked him into EVIL, before a dropkick on EVIL got a two count. EVIL would slam Hiromu down and get a near fall in return, only to be met by a lariat from Shingo. House of Torture used weapons to guide Shingo into the hands of EVIL – before he was tossed into the exposed steel corner of the ring before a two count off a Fisherman Buster.
Dick Togo would try to choke Shingo with the garrote, but Shingo was easily able to fight free. One pumping bomber later – and this one was done – with L.I.J on top. On March 18th, Hiromu Takahashi met EVIL with a spot in the quarter finals. That same night also brings Shingo Takagi vs. Chase Owens, a match which Shingo plans to win in under five minutes. SANADA is in singles action on the 17th, facing Will Ospreay in the main event.
