Back during World Tag League, Hiroshi Tanahashi was able to gel with Toru Yano, embracing his rule breaking side. Tonight, they team up once again – as they team with Tomohiro Ishii to meet Suzuki-Gun in six man tag team action.
Hiroshi Tanahashi Soars High Onto DOUKI – Minoru Suzuki & Tomohiro Ishii Brawl To The Back
Yano would look to start this match with Taichi, and quickly looked for the Belly to Belly suplex. Taichi would drive Yano into the exposed steel corner with a Greco Roman Throat hold, before applying a nerve hold. DOUKI got the tag for the sliding dropkick and running double stomp – but Yano was able to kick out at two.
Minoru Suzuki would tag in and hit some heavy forearm blows before applying the heel hook. Tanahashi would make the save, before having his ankle snatched. Unable to keep both men trapped, Suzuki had to release the hold, and Yano got the tag to Ishii.
Ishii would run Suzuki down with a shoulder tackle, before they’d exchange forearm blows. Suzuki looked for the Gotch Style Piledriver, but Ishii slipped free and nailed the powerslam. DOUKI would get the tag, but ran into the suplex. Tanahashi would manage the running forearm smash and Somersault Senton, but Taichi & Suzuki helped set up the top rope double foot stomp.
DOUKI CHOKEY was applied, but Tanahashi got the bottom rope to force the break. Daybreak DDT was blocked into Twist & Shout, before an inside cradle nearly caught Tanahashi. Slingblade would follow before Hiroshi Tanahashi soared down with High Fly Flow! Minoru Suzuki & Tomohiro Ishii would brawl into the back, potentially setting up a special singles match.
Hiroshi Tanahashi Stands With Guerrillas of Destiny
Last night, Jado once again ended up on the wrong end of an attack from BULLET CLUB – as even with Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi there to even the odds. Tonight, once again Guerrillas of Destiny will meet BULLET CLUB – and with a chance to adjust to having some help.
Ishimori & ELP would hide outside and look for the sneak attack, but were unable to get the jump on the quintet. It was simply an evenly matched brawl, but in the ring – Gedo would go after Jado. They should be celebrating 33 years in the industry together, but thanks to Jay White – they’re rivals for the first time in their career. Jado would get stomped out by Bad Luck Fale, before ELP teased allowing Jado to make the tag – only to drag him back across the ring.
Gedo would get some more blows in on his old partner, before Jado laid in the lariat. Tama & Tanga would hit the ring after the tag, with Tanga Loa taking down Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga taking on Chase Owens. Tongan Twist was blocked before Owens hit the neckbreaker.
Taguchi would hit B-Triggers all over the ring, before having to take a second to breathe. Ishimori would be able to nail Taguchi with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Belt, before ELP nailed CR2 for the win – claiming a title shot. BULLET CLUB kept the fight coming, before Hirosh Tanahashi made the save – showing more back up from the babyface’s of NJPW.
The NEVER Openweight Six Man Champions Are Here
SHO & El Desperado continue to butt heads on the undercard of the New Japan Cup, with SHO keen on getting a shot to become the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Tonight, they once again clash in a six man tag team match – with SHO having some heavyweight backup in Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL, putting all members of the NEVER Openweight Six Man Champions in the ring.
El Desperado would start alongside SHO, who fled the ring and tried to lure Desperado out. Instead, it was SHO who got lured back into the ring – and beaten down in the middle. Desperado would look for the deadlift suplex, before SHO blocked. EVIL got the tag and applied the Cobra Twist, with House of Torture forming a human chain to inflict maximum damage.
SHO was back in and prevented the tag before being dropped with a back suplex. Kanemaru hit the ring and despite EVIL taking things outside – Heel Master would remain in control. Back in the ring, EVIL tried twice for the low blow – but Kanemaru dodged both attempts. SHO grabbed the wrench and tried to use it, but was disarmed by Desperado.
TAKA Michinoku would look to hit the Michinoku Driver, before instead being driven into the steel – and dropped with Big Juice from Takahashi.
