When the United Empire is all together – it’s not easy to stop them. All four members have been able to reach the second round of the New Japan Cup, and tonight they are here for eight man tag team action. Hiroshi Tanahashi will lead Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma, and Ryohei Oiwa tonight – and will have his work cut out for him.

United Empire Head Into Round Two Of The New Japan Cup With Some Extra Steam

In a shock to nobody, the United Empire would jump start this match before the bell even rang. Togi Makabe would be isolated in the ring, and would show that he is no slouch – managing to take everyone down. Cobb was left in enemy territory, and Honma would work with Oiwa to cut him down before a double elbow drop.

Honma would take a dropkick, before Cobb would surf on his back – pressing all 280lbs of his weight onto the veteran. Great-O-Khan would hit a big mongolian chop to the back of Honma, and ask the veteran to bring the fight – before taking him out.

Will Ospreay would scoop Honma up and slam him down for the flashing elbow. Honma would be able to get a suplex on Ospreay, and Tanahashi was able to enter the match – where he’d hit the Somersault senton on Ospreay.

Opsreay came back with a spinning backbreaker, before bringing Henare into the match. Henare would start pummelling Tanahashi with some strikes, before being dropped by The Ace. Oiwa would tag in and nearly pinned Herare off the Gutwrench Suplex. Henare would nail the Rampage Tackle – and this one was over.

Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo Show More Issues

It’s time for BULLET CLUBS Cutest Tag Team to work with House of Torture. El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori have had some issues lately, and tonight they team with Yujiro Takahashi. They better all get along, as they are faced with the L.I.J unit of SANADA, BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito.

Picking up right where they left off in their first round match – Yujiro went after Naito, before being taken down. Naito & SANADA would take down ELP, before Yujiro was able to send SANADA to the floor and hit a Fisherman Buster on Naito.

ELP & Ishimori would work over Naito with the diving backrake, before apply a Greco Roman Nipple Twister. Ishimori would hang Naito by this knees before nailing sliding dropkicks and the groin press. Naito would be able to fight back with some armdrags and a back elbow – and finally was able to tag out. SANADA came in and nailed a dropkick, before looking for a hold on Yujiro and having his hand bitten. BUSHI would meet ELP in the ring, and Ishimori would assist in taking him down.

Sudden Death would be set up, but ELP was still in his own head about this – leading to Ishimori taking the blind tag. BUSHI would get a two count off a roll up, before taking Bloody Cross. ELP would now tag himself in and nail CR2 – and more tension is shown between factionmates.

Zack Sabre Jr. Is In Peak Form

With the first round in the rear-view mirror for CHAOS & Suzuki-gun, it’s time for a ten man tag team match. El Desperado, Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr, DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru are up against Kazuchika Okada, Toru Yano, Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and YOH. Okada still has marks on his chest from the chops of Desperado in their first round match, and fans are eager to see more from these two.

Desperado would start the match with Okada, hitting an eye poke before the shoulder tackle. Okada would shoot back with some arm drags, before avoiding Pinche Loco and looking for the Rainmaker. Taichi & Yano would take the ring, and Taichi would goad Yano into going after the corner pads – before striking him from behind.

Suzuki-Gun would choke Yano with four different boots, before they’d take time to stomp him out. Kanemaru would get yanked down by Yano, and Goto would get the tag. CHAOS would bang the war drums – before Goto & Kanemaru went for dropkicks at the same time. Kanemaru got the tag, before ZSJ hit the ring.

YOH would try to match the technical wrestling skills of ZSJ, and was able to trip him up for a dropkick to the side of the head. Dragon Suplex was attempted by YOH but ZSJ blocked. A backslide would get a two count, but looking for Five Star Clutch would see YOH taken into an armbar for the finish.
