Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning on returning to the UK once Prince Charles takes the throne.

That is according to Royal author Tom Quinn. These comments are very significant, as it would seem to indicate that the couple have a problem with Queen Elizabeth II.
And this would run counter to the initial suggestions that they did not see eye-to-eye with Prince Charles, given he was the one who had reportedly expressed concerns about their son Archie’s skin color.
While that may be the case, it could equally be stated that by Charles being next in line to the throne, this would represent an opportunity to start things afresh. In this way, the couple would be able to put behind any bad blood knowing that the current monarch would not be there.
In an interview on the ‘To Di For Daily’ podcast, Tom said: “[They]believe that when the elder royals die…they may well be able when Charles is King, be able to come back and be the part-time royals.
“That was something that Queen Elizabeth absolutely said couldn’t happen.” Nevertheless, if this did go ahead, it could draw a lot of criticism for the following reasons.
First of all, it would show that Harry and Meghan want the riches of the Royal family without having to necessarily do all the duties that accompany it.
And given that the taxpayer plays a part in making sure that the Royal family is funded, this is the last thing that people will want to see.
Secondly, if this was their intention in the first place, then there was no reason for them to be so condemning of the Royal family in their Oprah Winfrey interview.
After all, it has made it much more difficult for them to simply walk back in. And yet, by having Charles at the helm, things could be different.
Tom added: “I think Meghan and Harry are hoping that Charles, Harry’s father after all, will be more of a moderniser and will say to them, ‘okay, if you want to be part-time royals, that’s fine’.”
