The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson has made the decision to travel to Poland in order to aid Ukrainian refugees.
Sarah Ferguson Travels To Poland To Help Ukrainian Refugees
Sarah has followed the lead of other members of the Royal Family in taking action. Just recently, Prince William and Kate Middleton had decided to attend a Ukrainian Cultural centre in London to have a meet and greet with the volunteers that were doing their best to help Ukrainian people.
Much in the same way, Sarah’s trip to Poland highlighted the plight of the people, who have had no choice but to flee their homes having lost everything.
In a post to her followers on Instagram, Sarah shared a series of pictures of herself in Poland with some refugees.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “I’m honoured to be welcomed to Poland today by @trzaskowskirafal and meeting Ukrainian refugees.
“At least 2.8m Ukrainians have fled their country since Russia invaded. Poland has taken in at least 1.7m so far. It is a privilege to meet some of them and hear their stories today.”
Aside from just meeting people, Sarah has also decided to take some positive action by giving back to the community. Through her charity, Sarah’s Trust, she donated a large number of supplies that would be critical in supporting the newly-displaced people.
In the video here, we can see that there are a large number of storage boxes that are getting ready to be shipped off. The post included the following words: “My charity @sarahs_trust is doing all it can to help.
“So far we have sent three articulated lorries with supplies from UK donors such as @baylisandhardingplc to support Ukrainian refugees in Poland.”
Despite her efforts, not everybody was convinced on social media about the authenticity of this. This was on the basis that Sarah was not very vocal about other wars which had a similar impact.
One person wrote: “Haven’t they [Ukrainians] suffered enough.” Regardless of what you think about Sarah, there is no denying that the Ukrainian people need all the backing they can get.
And that should be welcomed. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
