Dana White has responded to Jake Paul’s repeated callouts of fighters on the UFC roster with a challenge of his own. In retaliation against Jake Paul’s assertion that the UFC president is a “cokehead”, White offered competing drug tests for the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
In a recent appearance on The Fight With Teddy Atlas, Dana White threw down the gauntlet. “So this guy keeps saying that I’m a cokehead.
Dana White to Jake Paul: I’ll Test For Cocaine if You Test for PEDS!
He can randomly cocaine test me for the next 10 years if I can randomly steroid test him for the next two.”
Jake Paul’s pumped-up physique, as presented for his boxing career, prompted many people to question his use of performance-enhancing drugs. Paul’s supposed refusal to submit to pre-fight drug testing only added fuel to the fire, and Dana White’s most recent challenge will surely bring further attention to the issue.
Jake Paul’s most recent outing in the boxing ring came against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Paul knocked Woodley out in the sixth round of an otherwise largely uneventful fight. This victory maintained Paul’s undefeated record, bringing him to 3-0 against retired mixed martial artists in the boxing ring.
After the fight, Paul called out the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz, and added Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman to his list. He still has yet to fight a professional boxer close to his own age or size. Dana White did not hesitate to point this out when asked about the likelihood of allowing his fighters to cross over to the boxing ring and fight Jake Paul..
“No. You notice he wants to f*cking fight everybody that’s not in his weight class, guys that are older and all of this other bullsh*t. Go find a boxer. Go hump somebody else’s leg, you goofball.”
Paul was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury, younger brother to world heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, instead of Tyron Woodley. Unfortunately, Fury was forced out of the fight thanks to a rib injury and chest infection, which allowed Tyron Woodley to step up at the last minute and take the fight.
If Jake Paul fights Tommy Fury in future, it will be his first real test against an actual boxer. For the minute, Paul seems more interested in fighting retired and semi-retired UFC personalities.
Paul, who stands over six feet tall and weighs around two hundred pounds, would be better suited to fighting a light heavyweight like Jon Jones or Anderson Silva, but he has yet to call out a man his own size.
