In 2022, very few professional wrestlers are dedicated to a certain company. While some like Roman Reigns are unlikely to leave their spot in WWE, the industry is more open than ever before – something which many take advantage of. However, Will Ospreay is dedicated to New Japan Pro Wrestling – and intends to remain there for the rest of his career.
Will Ospreay Is Loyal To NJPW Due To How Well They Look After Him
During an interview with the All Real Wrestling podccast, Ospreay would open up about his career and health. During this, he’d say the following about his dedication to NJPW. His future and the future of NJPW are very closely linked.
“I think I will end being with New Japan for life because they stuck by me so much. They got me all the greatest doctors, I was being looked after so well. I will never forget what New Japan did for me, I can’t tell you enough how much I love this company for everything they’ve done for me throughout 2020. I will never forget it and I will never forget those people.”
“It was one thing after another, after another, after another. It was just like at points I didn’t even want to be here anymore man. Like it’s horrible to say it but like I’m over the moon I’m here now because like the people that I’ve met along the way and the people that I’ve reconnected with and just like man I’m so grateful to be alive.
I’m so happy to be here. I’m so grateful just to be able to perform under the New Japan banner, I’m so grateful to have like everyone backstage who are supporting me. I’m so grateful to revolution pro wrestling, I’m so grateful to all of my friends. That locker room right now is phenomenal. I’m so grateful to be here.”
During this same interview, Ospreay expressed his frustrations with the special treatment that Jon Moxley received in NJPW as a part-time talent.
Still Showing Up Elsewhere When NJPW Doesn’t Need Him On Tours
However, while Ospreay is dedicated to NJPW as his main company – he is also making moves in the UK and US, where he is the Rev Pro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and Warrior Wrestling Champion respectively.
Ospreay works as many matches as possible, and there is a chance that we get to see him pop up as a special guest in AEW in time. However, we will likely just never see him sign elsewhere. His style fits NJPW best, and will likely grow to become a bigger star in the company than even Kenny Omega if this dedication is true.
