Tom Quinn, a reliable royal author has suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may return to the United Kingdom in the future to take on the role of part-time royals.
The royal author maintains that the couple had sought such roles in the past but were denied by the Monarch as it “was something that Queen Elizabeth absolutely said couldn’t happen”. However, Tom claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may finally get their way once Prince Charles ascends the throne.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Will Prefer Part Time Roles – Royal Author
Speaking in a recent podcast, Tom Quinn said: “I think Meghan and Harry are hoping that Charles, Harry’s father, after all, will be more of a moderniser and will say to them, ‘okay, if you want to be part-time royals, that’s fine.”
Will Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Return As Part-Time Royals When Prince Charles Become King?
Tom Quinn further suggested that the estranged royals who are currently domiciled in the US, do not “really want to spend their whole time in the States and not be part of the Royal Family,” but will prefer a part-time role as “they just don’t want to do it all the time” as expected of senior royals.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle sent shock waves around the globe in early 2020 when they voluntarily quit their roles as top members of the royal family. As a result, they lost their royal highness titles and Harry personally lost several honorary titles and patronages.
Since then, they have resided in the United States and have resisted calls by many renowned people to return to the UK. The couple even became subjects of controversy after their epic interview with American Television host Oprah Winfrey left a sour taste in the mouth of many Brits.
Although that particular interview reportedly strained their relationship with the royal family, the entire Harry family is reportedly set to make a return to the UK this Summer with Harry’s issues with Home Office the only spanner-in-theworks that may prevent a long-anticipated family reunion.
