Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony after the latter had made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

During the course of the event, Chris was in the process of handing out the next award. And as he was speaking, he joked about Jada being in ‘G.I. Jane,’ on the basis of her bald head.
That is when Will decided that enough was enough. The actor responded by walking towards the comedian and giving him a slap.
In the picture here, we can see that Chris has clearly been hurt by the slap as his face moves away with an expression of anguish.
And to make matters worse, Will followed that up with the following words: “Take my wife’s name out of your f****ng mouth.”
On closer inspection, it is clear to see why Will would have been outraged about this. First of all, it is no secret that Jada has been struggling with her hair loss.
She has been suffering from alopecia and has spoken on the difficulties that this has had when it comes to adjusting towards her new appearance. Secondly, in any event, it is also not the first time that Chris has made a joke about Jada.
In 2016, he had also shaded her with the following comments: “Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties — I wasn’t invited!”
Therefore, there was a feeling that Will may have taken things personally. However, the night did get better for Will. He walked away with the best actor award for his performance in “King Richard.”
And in his acceptance speech, he let everyone know that perhaps he should not have behaved in the way that he did. In his comments, he remarked: “I wanna apologize to the academy. I wanna apologize to all my fellow nominees.
“This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me, it’s about being able to shine light on all of the people.”
