Tonight should be a fun one as Ronda Rousey faces Sonya Deville in her first every Smackdown match, with Charlotte Flair interfering in some way, as well as a Intercontinental and tag team championship matches.
We’re going to grab some snacks and we’ll be back at the 8 p.m. EST start time to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
After opening by having the announced matches cut promos on each other, we got to the action.
Intercontinental Championship – Sami Zayn (c) vs. Ricochet
This started fast as Ricochet went for a rollup as soon as the bell rang, but Zayn took back control with a dragon suplex on the ring apron as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
This was a great back and forth, until Johnny Knoxville came out to distract Zayn for Ricochet to hit an awesome looking leg scissors bomb for the pin.
Congratulations, Ricochet. You deserve it.
Segment 3
Backstage, Sami Zayn challenged Johnny Knoxville to a WrestleMania match, then Austin Theory came out and told Pat McAfee he’s his opponent and slapped McAfee.
Segment 4
Naomi w/Sasha Banks vs. Carmella w/Queen Zelina
This was a decent but quick match Naomi won with a split legged moonsault after Banks took out Zelina on the floor with a meteroa into the ring steps.
Segment 5
Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal w/Shanky
This was a quick match as Drew overpowered Mahal and hit a Claymore for the win.
Segment 6
After the Usos took out Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs on the stage, Roman Reigns came out. He then proclaimed he’s going to smash Brock Lesnar and pin him at WrestleMania. He’ll hold the titles over his head and force Lesnar acknowledge him.
Segment 7
Smackdown Tag Team Championship – The Usos (Jimmy, Jey) vs. The Viking Raiders (Erik, Ivar)
This started fast with the Viking Raiders in control early, but a series of blind tags helped the Usos avoid a Viking Experience and work over Erik on the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 8
The Usos won after a assisted neckbreaker on Erik, but the match felt off after the opening. We don’t know for sure, but it looked like Ivar was injured early on and gutted it out. We hope he’s okay.
Segment 9
Big E w/Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus w/Ridge Holland
This is just weird as Kofi played the New Day theme on Big E’s ATV’s horn and Holland hit him with a chair and pounded on the ATV with it.
Sheamus dropped Big E with a chop block in the ring, and then Sheamus and Holland drove off on the ATV as we headed to commercial.
Guess this ends the match?
After the commercial break, they showed Sheamus and Holland destroy the ATV with sledgehammers. Just when things in the WWE couldn’t get any weirder.
Segment 10
Ronda Rousey vs. Sonya Deville
Ronda won a relatively quick match by submission via an armbar, then lured Charlotte Flair into the ring and locked in an ankle lock on her to make Flair tap out a couple of times before she released her.
This was as underwhelming an ending to the show as we’ve seen in a while, and the show felt disjointed like it’ a Go Home episode with the short matches, promos, and recaps.
