One of the most iconic theme songs in WWE history has come from rock band Alter Bridge. For the bulk of his career, Edge would hit the ring to ‘Metalingus’ – with it being his theme song from 2005 to 2022. Even now, he is using ‘The Other Side’, another song by Alter Bridge. Despite this, we’ve never seen them play Edge down to the ring live – but we would have seen this in 2020.
Alter Bridge Was Going To Perform At Wrestlemania 36
After a fan on Facebook would say they would have loved to see Alter Bridge play Edge to the ring for his match last night against AJ Styles – Alter Bridge manager Tim Tournier would confirm that there was plans for Alter Bridge to play at Wrestlemania 36. This was of course the year where Wrestlemania was nearly cancelled due to COVID-19, and was forced into the WWE Performance Centre. Tournier would have the following to say.
“We actually booked this in 2020, it was all set – everyone was getting ready to fly in but it got cancelled due to Covid. WWE and Edge have been great to us over the years, we love them and would jump at any opportunity to work with them.”
There Is Always Next Year
This was long rumoured, but was now finally confirmed. Bowling For Soup was also set to perform at Wrestlemania 36, doing the entrance for Alexa Bliss. Neither would get a chance to happen. However, there is always a chance that Alter Bridge could show up at Wrestlemania 39 – where Edge is expected to once again have a major match.
Wrestlemania 38 wouldn’t have worked, as Edge’s entrance was already epic enough – with him descending from a throne surrounded by fire. He would go on to defeat AJ Styles after a distraction from Damien Priest. This is the start of a new faction, with Edge as the leader. Fans hope to see Tommaso Ciampa & T-Bar join this faction, with Ciampa having his send off from NXT at Stand & Deliver.
