One of the hottest angles in AEW at the moment is the feud between Chris Jericho & Eddie Kingston. Originally just being a simple matter of respect, and Kingston proving he could win a big match – it snowballed into an intense feud involving the creation of a new faction for Chris Jericho. With Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Angelo Parker & Matt Menard at his beck and call – Jericho broke up The Inner Circle, leaving Santana & Ortiz to align with Kingston.
Chris Jericho Heated Things Up On AEW Dynamite Last Night
Last night on AEW Dynamite, we’d see this feud reach new stakes. During an in-ring promo segment, Eddie Kingston would be told that Jericho has put a hit out on him – while Kingston promised to put Jericho in the ground.
Later that same episode, the Jericho Appreciation Society would make good on their promise to take Kingston, Santana & Ortiz down – beating them down in the parking lot and throwing a flash paper fireball at the face of Kingston. This will likely be addressed next week on AEW Dynamite, but will almost certainly lead to a big way to end this increasingly dangerous feud.
Is It Time For Blood & Guts II?
The perfect way to bring this rivalry to the endgame could be the Blood & Guts match. Originally planned for The Inner Circle vs. The Elite, the match was scrapped due to COVID-19. We’d see The Inner Circle battle The Pinnacle in the match in 2021, with The Pinnacle coming out on top after MJF shoved Jericho off the top of the cage.
Now, we have a perfect feud to bring this match back around. While Kingston, Santana & Ortiz are outnumbered right now – Ring of Honor legend Homicide was spotted backstage at AEW Dynamite. Homicide has links to Kingston, Santana & Ortiz through the L.A.X faction in Impact Wrestling alongside Hernandez. It’s likely Homicide & Hernandez are the ones who round out the team for a potential Blood & Guts match – and that’s dangerous company to have.
