Right now, we’re in the middle of seeing one of the runs a tag team has had in years with FTR. After throwing Tully Blanchard to the curb and turning face, they would proceed to have two of the best matches in their career – defeating The Briscoes & The Young Bucks in the span of a week. This is also just the start of this potentially game changing run, and has gotten them interest from their previous employers of WWE.
Dax Harwood Says FTR Are Sticking With AEW – Despite WWE Interest
News would break earlier this week that WWE are interesting in bringing FTR back. They were known as The Revival there, where they held the RAW, Smackdown and NXT Tag Team Championships. However, WWE tried to push them into a comedy gimmick – causing them to leave WWE to join AEW.
Dax Harwood is well aware of the rumours that WWE is interested however. While on the Wrestling Perspective podcast, Harwood would have the following to say.
“I think both companies are in the business of getting talent and getting talented talent, not just any talent, and I think they’ve seen the wave we’ve made, especially in the last eight-to-ten months, more so in the last four months. So yeah, why wouldn’t they put the feelers out? Why wouldn’t they think to ask about it?
Here’s the thing; we respect Tony Khan so much. We would never, in a million years, while we’re under a contract with the company, would we ever go behind his back and talk contract status with anybody else. No other company.
We would never do that to him because have too much respect for what he’s given us and what he’s allowed us to do. On the flip side of that, we’re gonna go where professional wrestling takes us, and wherever the best opportunity is for us and wherever we can build on our legacy. That’s the most important thing.”
A Major Singles Match Comes For Both Men On Wednesday
Despite being a tag team, both Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler are also fine singles wrestlers – and have a chance to show this very soon. They will clash for the first time ever in a singles match, with a spot in the Owen Hart Memorial Cup on the line.
Despite this, they’ve made it crystal clear that a break-up is not in the works. It will be a pure battle of respect from both men – as they will find out who the better singles wrestler in the team is.
