Renowned lawyer and activist Dr. Mos-Shogbamimu has openly condemned the latest royal tours undertaken by the Cambridges and Wessexes. The seasoned royal commentator labelled the tour of Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as that of Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex “an embarrassment to the British monarchy.”
Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu Says The Royal’s “Tours Should End”
Dr. Shola lashed out at the royal couples for embarking on a royal tour to the Caribbean in celebration of the Queen’s platinum jubilee. She believed that the royals should instead strive to resolve the problems pointed out by protesters and the countries’ leaders alike.

However, Dr. Shola said that the trips of the royals did not answer those questions. She said, “If the purpose of the trip is what we’ve seen which is basically a continuation of representing the legacy of the British Empire, then absolutely yes these tours should just end.
Quite frankly these royal tours that we’ve seen to date are an embarrassment to the British monarchy. However if the royal tour was one that speaks to what many of these Afro-Caribbean nations are seeking to address, which is truth, reconciliation and justice, then you need to get on board those tours and make them work.”
A little while ago, the Cambridges embarked on a royal tour to Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. In spite of the fact that the foreign tour was their first in a long time, it did not go according to plan for the royals. William and Kate were met with hostile demonstrations, a barrage of open letters, and appeals for compensation and expressions of regret for Britain’s colonial past.
Reacting to the widespread condemnation, William had previously said that the slave trade should never have happened. However, he failed to respond to the talk of apology or compensation.
In addition, Prince William also discussed antimonarchism, admitting in a press release that he is aware that other countries may reject the monarchy just like Barbados succeeded in doing late last year. He also claimed that he and his wife would help and care for people rather than telling them “what to do.”
