Beauty and fashion TikToker Amanda Turner wanted to get a perfect smile but ended up with something completely different. For cosmetic dental surgery, people have been heading to Turkey where the procedure tends to be more wallet-friendly.
However, cheaper doesn’t always mean better or more convenient and Turner found that out when her teeth were left a jagged mess. Turner looked into getting a perfect set of chompers and thought she found the right people for the job.

After consulting with a clinic on WhatsApp, she flew from Ireland to Istanbul to get the work done. Turner had to be stoked as she finally got her teeth done as it wouldn’t break the bank. The procedure left her in tears and in pain.
On her TikTok, you see the progression of her going to get the procedure, her reaction afterward, and the immediate aftermath of getting the work undone.
Turner’s teeth had been drilled down to the point of being shards. In texts between her and the dental consultant with Karat Dent, it’s pointed out that she would receive individual crowns and get some repair work done to achieve the “Hollywood smile.”
In all, she paid over £3,000 for the work but didn’t get what she asked for at all. Now, I figured her lower lip was red—in the featured image–from biting herself but the drilling procedure to end up with the jagged shards of teeth is the culprit. Karat Dent gave her six bridges instead of crowns. She also pointed out the unsanitary conditions in the room as one dentist dropped the teeth put in her mouth and also had his hands in his pocket and his phone with the gloves on.
A Costly Mistake
Also, when she asked if the procedure would hurt, she was told that it wouldn’t but she had to ask the dentists to stop—and they didn’t.
Now, there’s a thing called a “shade tree mechanic”. They’re basically freelance mechanical who work on vehicles at the owner’s house. Sometimes they do the work perfectly and follow all procedures while other times, they get the work done but a couple of steps have been skipped and there are leftover parts.
Karat Dent did a shade tree mechanic’s job on Turner’s teeth. They look impressive once she shows them off but she was in a ton of pain. Now she’s on several kinds of painkillers because of something too good to be true. It doesn’t end there, folks.
The whole situation is an avoidable mess—which Amanda Turner admits. To get the procedure undone will run her about £18,000. She has turned down money to sell the story as well as donations from supporters.
