Jay Leno has given his take on Will Smith’s slapgate incident at the Oscars involving Chris Rock.
Jay Leno Was Left ‘Disturbed’ By Will Smith’s Slapgate Incident-‘The Most Recorded Assault In History’
Will, for his part, decided to lash out at the comedian after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith hair loss. While the actor did receive pushback in the form of a 10-year ban from the Oscars, Jay noticed something much more disturbing.
And that was an element of genuine outrage, which threatened to spill over into more violence. During an interview with Palm Beach Daily News, he said: “To me, the thing that’s most disturbing wasn’t the slap.
“He was kind of smirking after he slapped [Rock]. It was the yelling of the obscenities. Then you go, ‘Whoa. What’s going on here? This is real anger.'”
And yet, that anger was also called into question. There was an argument over why Will had decided to lash out at Chris, when he refrained from doing something towards August Alsina.
After all, the latter was responsible for having an affair with Jada. With that being said, Jay could not fathom why an investigation was needed in the first place in order to determine culpability.
There had been conclusive evidence with numerous witnesses all of which was compounded by the fact that it was recorded and broadcasted across the world.
He added: “It had to be the most recorded assault in history…I saw Chris’ ear. There were so many cameras on this incident. What are you investigating? I know sometimes things are just what they appear to be.”
The fans on social media were tired over this. They felt that it was time to let this story go and move on to something else. With that being said, people are waiting to see if Will is going to make a comeback.
One person wrote: “So sick of this. Can’t wait until Will Smith’s new movie!” Time will tell how Will responds to this. So there you have it folks. What did you think about all of this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
