Kaitlyn Bristowe has expressed her dissatisfaction with The Bachelorette’s decision to have two leads for season 19.
Kaitlyn Bristowe Speaks Out Against The Show’s Decision To Have Two Leads-‘I Was Triggered’
This revamp could only have been done on the basis of increasing entertainment and therefore more ratings. While there is no denying that it is a bold move, not everyone has been left satisfied.
The decision to have Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia as two leads could backfire, as the chances of forming a genuine relationship may decrease due to the extra competition.
And this move is something that Kaitlyn could not get behind. In an interview, she said: “I was triggered. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, can’t a woman have her own season? I just don’t want it to be them pitted against each other.”
Kaitlyn’s comments are understandable for the following reasons. First of all, she is fully aware of what it takes to be in the franchise. Not only did she appear on it as a contestant, but she also had the opportunity to co-host the show.
Although the latter has come to an end, she still has plenty of thoughts about how the show should move forward. Secondly, Kaitlyn’s comments hinted that the move could backfire.
After all, the fans have become accustomed to having a certain format. She added: “I don’t know how the format is going to work. I don’t know what their little system is going to be.”
And yet, it is also important to take Kaitlyn’s comments with a pinch of salt. Given that she is no longer going to be hosting the show, she may have extra reservations that she would not have otherwise had if she was overseeing the show.
In this way, the only thing that people can do is give the show the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. And who knows, maybe the new format will work. But until that time, Kaitlyn is not convinced.
Her following comments hinted as much: “And we could all get weird on what’s acceptable and what’s not in the Bachelor world because, really, that is always a gray area.”
