Until yesterday, it was looking like Rhett Titus might have not been able to find his way onto Supercard of Honor. However, Tony Khan has signed a title defense for the reigning ROH World Television Champion, and it’s against a legend. Minoru Suzuki is back in Ring of Honor, and has his first chance to become a champion here.
Suzuki is coming off three hard matches since yesterday, losing to Chris Dickinson at GCW Bloodsport, defeating Biff Busick at WrestleCon, and defeating Killer Kross earlier today in NJPW. Despite this, Suzuki was looking as great as ever – showing that some legends don’t age.

Titus offered a handshake, and Suzuki kicked the hand away. Suzuki had a slap to the face, before Suzuki fired back with one that took the legs out from underneath Titus. He’d try to out wrestle Suzuki on the mat and was able to grab a single leg crab – but Suzuki got the bottom rope.
Suzuki would grab the armbar over the top rope, before pulling Titus to the floor. Titus was thrown across the floor, before this one went back into the ring. Suzuki would block the single leg attempt into a choke, before grabbing the arm of Titus. Slapping Suzuki just set him off into another level, and he’d once again try to choke the life out of Titus.
Titus would throw some strikes at the lower back of Suzuki, before the Belly to Belly Suplex. Suzuki was sent into the corner for a pump kick, before a back suplex for a two count. Titus looked for the single leg crab, but Suzuki would almost get a kneebar instead.
Suzuki was dropped with the hydraulic dropkick, but Titus would only get a two count on the legend. Sleeper would turn into the Gotch Style Piledriver, and this one was over. Minoru Suzuki is the new ROH World TV Champion!
Josh Woods Is The Best Wrestler In Ring Of Honor
Josh Woods has been on a whole other level since claiming the ROH Pure Championship in 2021, and has been able to make seven defences since then. Tonight at Supercard of Honor, he will face another of the best technical wrestlers in the world today with AEW’s Wheeler Yuta. These two will leave it all in the ring, and prove just who the best pure wrestler in the world today is.
Pure Rules are simple – you only get three rope breaks, and one closed hand punch to the face. Yuta has experience in this style, having worked the Pure tournament – but Woods is the king of his style. He might be the Decoder, but how do you Decode a beast?
Wheeler Yuta Shows Skills Beyond His Years
Code of Honor was adhered too, and Woods would be rolled up quick for a one count. Woods would take a fast armdrag, before looking for the Beast Lock. Yuta would use his first rope break to get free, leaving two more for this match.
Woods would get tripped up, but was able to almost get another submission. Yuta was able to fight his way free – not using a rope break this time. Woods & Yuta would sprawl for control, but would find a stalemate. Yuta would get a headlock, but Woods kept a cool head and was able to try and counter.
Woods would stomp down on the ankle of Yuta, before being taken into a short arm scissor. Yuta used his second rope break, and only had one left. He’d fire up and slap the face of Woods, before a dropkick and spinning toe hold.
Yuta was able to bridge back, but Woods used his first rope break. Woods would level Yuta with a big right hand, before Woods would take a DDT from Yuta. Both men would trade blows, before the enziguri leveled Woods. Yuta went up top, but just found the knee of Woods as he neared the mat.
Woods would take a German Suplex, before suplexing Yuta into the turnbuckle. Yuta used his final rope break to get free. He’d go for the Hammer & Anvil elbows before getting the cradle pinfall for the victory! Yuta is now the ROH Pure Champion, and that is a great resume builder to get into Blackpool Combat Club!
