During the pre-show for NXT Stand & Deliver, we would see Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne truly get tested as NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. They had to face the inaugural champions, Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai – who were able to claim the championships for the second time. This could be another brief reign – as Toxic Attraction gets a rematch tonight, and hopes to regain complete control of the NXT Women’s division.
Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai Only Last Four Days As Champions
Jayne would start up with Gonzalez, and jump onto her back with a sleeper hold. Dolin got a blind tag in and dove in onto Gonzalez before being slammed down into the mat. Kai would take the tag, and would be hit with a sloppy hurricanrana from Dolin. Jayne got the tag and hit a driving boot to the side of Kai’s head, before Toxic Attraction would get complete control of the match.
Kai was able to break free and get the tag to Gonzalez. Jayne was tossed across the ring with a Fallaway Slam, before being caught on the top rope. The previously injured knee of Gonzalez would take all her weight as she helplessly hung, before Jayne nailed a kick.
After a commercial break, we’d see Gonzalez fight free of a single leg crab – sending Jayne to the floor. Kai would be able to get the tag, and rushed into the ring to nail a Scorpion Kick. Some running boots in the corner would get a two count, before a tag to Gonzalez. Dolin took a double stomp from Kai and the twisting Vader Bomb from Gonzalez – but Jayne made the save.
Kai would get nailed with a superkick from Jayne, but was able to kick out before three. Toxic Attraction hit a Code Breaker and the STO – but Gonzalez would be able to make the save. Wendy Choo came to ringside once again, but Rose would run her down. In the ring, Gonzalez would look for the powerbomb – but Rose ran a distraction. Chop Block before Toxic Shock – and Toxic Attraction are back on top!
Tony D’Angelo Celebrates Biggest Win Of His NXT Career
At Stand & Deliver, Tony D’Angelo was able to defeat Tommaso Ciampa – and now considers himself to be the new Don of NXT. With AJ Galante here to hype him up – D’Angelo would hit the ring.
What D’Angelo did on Saturday was incredible, and now he’s ready for the next stage of his career. The crowd would chant ‘Boring’ as Galante tried to treat this like an actual mob boss being crowned. D’Angelo got a new ring, something which could help in future wins – and that was that.
Not much of a pay off to defeating Ciampa and potentially sending him off from NXT. Ciampa’s future remains unclear, but the future of the NXT Tag Team division was shown. Grayson Waller & Sanga want a shot at MSK, but Waller needs his arm to heal up first after a massive fall off a ladder at Stand & Deliver.
Nikitta Lyons Clashes With Lash Legend
From the moment Nikkita Lyons stepped foot into NXT, people took notice. This includes Lash Legend – who quickly sparked up an issue with Lyons. Tonight, they will clash in the ring after a firey encounter on Lashing Out With Lash Legend, and we will see who is better wrestler.
They’d lock up hard in the middle of the ring, with neither lady showing an advantage. Lash blocked a German Suplex, before hitting a big pump kick. A hard elbow drop to the back would get a two count, before a poorly applied chin lock. Legend looked for a back handspring moonsault, and got a two count.
Lyons nailed the German Suplex, before both ladies traded blows in the ring. Lash was taken up for a superplex, getting Lyons a near fall. Lyons would hit the spin kick – and this one was over.
