Max Caster is once again riding solo, with Anthony Bowens injured. Dante Martin can relate, as his brother and tag team partner Darius Martin is on the shelf. Tonight, Caster & Martin go one on one – in what could be a match that will have implications on the singles rankings in the men’s singles division.
Darby Allin Threatens The Undisputed Elite
Before this match, Darby Allin would challenge Kyle O’Reilly for Double Or Nothing. He blames O’Reilly for injuring Sting, and if he doesn’t accept the challenge, we will see Allin ruin the night for everyone related to the Undisputed Elite tonight.
Since the start of AEW, Darby Allin has been involved on every single PPV – and while he failed to punch his ticket to the finals of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup? He found a way in. Kyle O’Reilly prides himself on being a fighter, and won’t let Allin ruin the night for Cole & Young Bucks.
Dante Martin Defeats Max Caster
With a wheelchair bound Bowens & Gunn Club in his corner, Caster had an entourage. Martin tried to attack Caster before the bell, only to have Billy Gunn drive him into the ring steps. Aubrey Edwards sent everyone not in this match to the back, as Caster blocked a springboard.
Martin would kick out of some weak pinfall attempts, before taking a knee strike to the midsection. Caster would apply the Figure Four Leg Lock as Ricky Starks & Taz would rip into Martin for betraying Team Taz in 2021 on commentary. Martin was able to reverse the pressure of the hold, only for Caster to apply another submission hold soon after.
Caster lost control of Martin once again, but blocked the springboard attempt and nailed a nasty Snap Suplex in the middle of the ring. Martin tried to fight back, but took a backdrop and narrowly avoided the Mic Drop elbow.
Caster was rolled up before Martin flipped over him to pick up the pace. Running elbow smashes would follow, before a diving crossbody for a two count. Nose Dive would follow, and Martin got a three count. He might have been dominated throughout, but only three seconds of a match count.
