Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson are becoming one of the strongest tag teams in AEW – and tonight they’ve been challenged to a fight. Dante Martin & Matt Sydal are looking for some revenge after having their names drug through the mud by Danielson. It’s going to be a team of speed vs. brute force and technical skills, which is an incredible clash of styles.
The TNT Championship Gets Destroyed
Before this main event cut The Men of the Year cut a promo inside of the ring. Ethan Page would say that when you mess with them or American Top Team – you don’t come out the same. Inner Circle broke up, while they exposed Guevara as a scumbag.
Sammy Guevara appears onscreen with the belt, requests a match and when denied -would use a sledgehammer on the TNT Championship belt. Frankie Kazarian would help, and this belt was destroyed. It’s likely Sky gets a custom championship after this – perhaps with LA Lakers colours to really help it stand out.
Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson Bring The Violence
Moxley & Danielson would kick this match off fast, with Martin getting quickly isolated by BCC. Moxley would pick the leg as a target, and Danielson would apply the surfboard stretch. Martin would get freed, before Moxley beat him into a corner. Sydal would get into the match and got a one count off a pinfall, before a solebutt kick to the face of Moxley.
Sydal Slice would land, before a corkscrew moonsault. Danielson would catch Sydal on the floor with a diving elbow smash to the face, before working on the arm in the ring. using a move that Regal referred to as “pigs foot”. Moxley would continue with a crossarm surfboard, before taking Sydal to the floor and slamming him down.
Martin would get the tag and pick the pace of the match up. Danielson would be sent to the floor with a dropkick, before Martin jumped clean over the top rope onto both Danielson & Moxley. Martin looked for the Nose Dive in the ring, but Danielson took him down off the top rope with a super butterfly suplex. LeBell Lock would be applied, and Martin would show some guts as he pushed to the ropes.
Sydal & Martin would nail dives, with Danielson taking the Meteora on the apron, and Moxley the Nose Dive in the ring. Danielson would save Moxley, before Martin was caught into the Bulldog Choke. Martin rolled into a pinfall, before Moxley would hit the piledriver for the near fall. Hammer & Anvil Elbows followed, before Paradigm Shift for the finish.
A brawl after the match would see the Jericho Appreciation Society attack Danielson & Moxley, which would take us off the air. Off air, Danielson’s leg would get caught between the ramp and ring – causing potential injury.
