We already know that in the opening round of the Women’s side of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup, Toni Storm will face Jamie Hayter. Tonight they meet on AEW Rampage, as they bring partners in Ruby Soho & Britt Baker for a tag team match. All four ladies have already punched their tickets to the tournament, but who will walk away with the momentum?
Toni Storm & Ruby Soho Claim Win In Chaotic Tag Team Clash
Hayter & Storm would start this match, with Hayter nailing a huge shoulder tackle to drop Storm. We’d see Hayter dropped with a shoulder tackle, before Soho got tagged into the match. A rushing elbow strike would be able to briefly stun Hayter, but a tag to Baker would follow. Baker nailed a Slingblade before looking for the Air Raid Crash, but Soho would get a roll up for a two count.
Storm got the tag and a double STO would drop Baker hard. Baker would fight back and get a two count before making the tag to Hayter. Storm was stomped into the corner – before Hayter applied a tight rear chin-lock. We’d see Storm fight out before being driven right into the corner twice with hard irish whips.
Hayter was dumped on her head with a German Suplex, after Soho saved Storm from another crash into the corner. Soho would get the tag and rushed towards Baker with some kicks before a knee lift to the face. A rushing side kick landed, before Deadly Nightshade, and a hip attack from Storm.
Hayter cut Storm down with a big boot, before Baker looked for Brittsburgh Sunrise. Soho made the save, before taking a choke breaker from Hayter. Storm dropped Hayter, before she hit the Waterwheel Drop on Baker – but Storm Zero was blocked into an Air Raid Crash. Baker would look for Lockjaw, but Storm rolled her into a pinfall before a German Suplex.
Superplex was set up, but Rebel made the save. Baker hit a butterfly suplex, before a sliding lariat from Hayter. Soho nailed a superkick on Baker, and Storm went ahead and got the roll up victory for her team.
HOOK Remains Undefeated
HOOK remains undefeated in an AEW ring, but has Tony Nese potentially coming up as a proper test at Double or Nothing. He also has an alliance brewing with Danhausen – who will face Tony Nese in his in-ring debut next week on AEW Dynamite. However tonight, none of that matters as The Cold Hearted Devil himself will take on The Blue Collar Badass, JD Drake.
HOOK would go right for the takedown, but Drake was able to get the bottom rope. A heavy chop from Drake would stagger HOOK, and he blocked the second with a headbutt. Dropstep into the takedown almost got the heel hook, but Drake kicked his way free.
HOOK would hit the suplex on Drake, but Drake blocked the second. HOOK would float into Redrum, and it was over. HOOK remains undefeated – but who will he face next? That’s unclear, but HOOK might be in the corner of Danhausen on Wednesday, despite shoving him to the mat – as Danhausen had a present for HOOK. It was a bag of chips with a bow on it!
