The WWE can be an interesting place at times, and while their booking and creative have been questionable at the best of times lately, their latest plan fell apart when Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of Raw on 5/16.
The walk out has been the main news this week with different arguments on both sides as fans and wrestlers have shared their thoughts on what might’ve happened.
There’s even a healthy debate whether the walk out was real or staged, and given Banks and Naomi were going to be in a six pack challenge with Nikki ASH, Doudrop, Becky Lynch, and Asuka would make it a great distraction from the bad booking.
Did Sasha Banks Manipulate Naomi?
The main reported reason behind the walk out is focused on Banks and her desire to not have her and Naomi used as pawns, as the scheduled match was going to have Naomi win.
The pair would then challenge the respective champions at Money in the Bank with Banks facing Ronda Rousey and Naomi challenging Bianca Belair.
After Banks and Naomi reportedly worked out their issues with management about the match, producers allegedly complained and the changes were undone, leading to a meeting with Vince McMahon and then the walk out.
But now there are reports that Banks manipulated Naomi into walking out, and that’s a curious argument.
The Boss gets her way
Naomi’s former tag partner Ariane Andrew (Cameron) appeared in an interview on Steve Fall’s Daily Slam Show and shared her belief that Naomi was manipulated into walking out.
“Sasha’s done this before. My girl Naomi, she wouldn’t do this, and I feel like she wouldn’t do this unless she had someone manipulating and telling her how to do this.”
Cameron continued and claimed if she was thee a Funkadactyl this would be happening and she’d support Naomi and offer for them to get back together.
To be fair, her interview felt like a job pitch for the WWE, but she did make a couple of points fans have been chatting about online since the walk out.
When we consider there are reports that Banks has heat backstage but Naomi doesn’t, it seems like she’s viewed a largely innocent in all of this.
Some have said it’s due to her marriage to Jimmy Uso while others say she’s just being a loyal friend to Banks and is showing her support.
Could Banks be taking advantage of Naomi’s friendship to further her own agenda? It’s possible but we won’t know until every side is shared.
