Last night’s WWE Raw had an interesting twist as Becky Lynch announced Sasha Banks and Naomi left the arena in a disrespectful manner, so the 6 pack challenge what was meant to be the main event was changed to Lynch and Asuka.
At first it seemed like a work, especially how it was announced numerous times throughout the night by the announcers, and it started to sound like when Steve Austin walked out.
While Austin had a legitimate reason, why Banks and Naomi walked out isn’t know yet aside of the release by the WWE apologizing for the sudden change for the main event.

Chance of plans
The original main event was supposed to be a 6 pack challenge for the #1 contender for the RAW Women’s Championship with Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch vs. Doudrop vs. Nikki A.S.H.
PWInsider reported that Banks was happy with the booking direction for their match, so she had a meeting with Vince McMahon.
Unfortunately, Vince reportedly refused to make Banks’ desired changes, so she and Naomi walked out of the show.
WWE issued a statement on their walk out:
“When Sasha Banks and Naomi arrived at the arena this afternoon, they were informed of their participation in the main event of tonight’s Monday Night RAW.
“During the broadcast, they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis’ office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk, and walked out.
“They claimed they weren’t respected enough as Tag Team Champions. And even though they had 8 hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents – even though they’d had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence.
“Monday Night RAW is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract. We regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight’s main event.”
History repeats?
While the WWE’s account may well be accurate, it wouldn’t be the first time they slammed talent for not agreeing to work when they couldn’t see eye to eye.
“Bret screwed Bret” and “Austin took his ball and went home” never touched on the real reason there was a falling out, and painted the WWE as the aggrieved victim.
WWE’s creative direction has been abysmal for years, and their lack of booking, especially in the women’s division, has had fans complaining for years.
Banks reportedly wanted to be released after WrestleMania 35 but Vince told her to take some time off and she did and decided to stay with the company.
We’ll know how this will be handled is the women’s tag titles are vacated or retired, but chances are we saw the last of Banks and Naomi in a WWE in the near future.
