In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone, Mike Tyson will not face criminal charges for using an annoying passenger’s face as a speed bag. News broke of Tyson punching an unruly passenger on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, and the questions arose. Who would be foolish enough to bother Mike Tyson? Is the guy OK? Is the guy alive? What did he do to get punched by Tyson?
Mike Tyson Will Face No Charges After Boxing Out Obnoxious Airplane Passenger
The former heavyweight boxing champion was heading to a cannabis convention when he ran into a rowdy Melvin Townsend III. In a bit of legal back and forward, Tyson’s team claimed that the man was belligerent and even threw a water bottle at Iron Mike.
Meanwhile, the other man’s lawyer said that no bottle was thrown and that his client got beaten up for being too excited about meeting Mike Tyson. San Mateo County DA Stephen Wagstaff summed it up as neither side wanting to pursue this legally and no charges were filed against Tyson.
That’s pretty much done and dusted. There was some disbelief in charges potentially being brought against the 55-year-old psychedelics enthusiast as everyone knew the story. Needless to say, it was a particularly random story for a number of reasons.
Whether a water bottle was thrown or not, the story was “some guy annoyed Mike Tyson on a plane and got punched” before the specifics came out. Mind you, the specifics weren’t much but it all still pointed to Tyson being pushed. He didn’t allow the incident to ruin his marijuana-related festivities as he would join Ric Flair and Rick Ross and light one up at the convention.
