While Titán & El Desperado have never met in singles action, they are no strangers to one another. They’ve clashed in many tag team encounters, and Desperado has even tore at the mask of Titán on a few occasions. Now, both are coming into this tournament after major losses in title matches – but have a chance to prove themselves in a major main event.
Genuine Tecnico vs. Rudo Action
El Desperado would quickly try to ground Titán, but failed. Titán would bounce off the mat and swing for the fences with a kick. Desperado responded with a reliable thumb to the eye. Titán would rope walk and bounce into a hurricanrana, before being cut down with a spear.
Desperado would rake the eyes of Titán before ripping at the mask. In Mexico this would be an immediate DQ, but Yamagata is firmly in Japan. Titán would throw some chops before being launched with a backdrop, and having his knee abused as Desperado set up an Indian Deathlock.
Titán would avoid a lariat before being launched to the apron. He’d be able to send Desperado to the floor, before an Asai Moonsault – springing off the top rope. A shotgun dropkick from the top rope would take Desperado down, but only for a two count.
El Desperado Gets Respect Beaten Into Him By Titán
Titán would hit a dragon screw before applying a leg lock, but Desperado was able to roll to the bottom rope. They’d kick away at each other’s knees, before Desperado hit a spinebuster before looking for Numero Dos. Titán lunged for the ropes, and was able to get free.
Guitarra de Angel was attempted, but Titán fought free. Tornado DDT would land, before Desperado took a dropkick and double stomp in the corner. Springboard double stomp was dodged, and Desperado hit a massive spear. Pinche Loco was attempted, but Titán got La Mistica into a cradle pin.
Desperado would hit a straight punch to the face and Pince Loco, and was able to secure the victory. With Titán as CMLL World Welterweight Champion, Desperado might have just earned a title shot.
