Despite a loss to Robbie Eagles, El Phantasmo remains on top of the B-Block as he matches up with TJP here tonight. TJP is a dangerous foe, someone able to defeat anyone on any given night, and is just behind Phantasmo in points at a respectable six. So tonight, ELP needs to hope his leg is able to hold up – and wrestle one of his best matches of the tournament, or risk blowing his early efforts.
El Phantasmo Survives The Attack Of TJP
Phantasmo showed the pain of his last match even during his entrance, unable to complete that impressive flip off the ropes. Coming into a match against TJP in a state of pain like that is not a good sign of things to come. ELP tried to go for a takedown to kick things off, but was taken into a pinfall for a two count.
TJP would get a headscissor takedown, and when ELP tried to sneak his way out – he’d be hit with a short piledriver. ELP thought he got an opening and took some time to strut, only for TJP to look for a DDT on the floor. Instead, ELP blocked into a suplex – crushing TJP on the floor.
A double knee gutbuster in the ring would land, getting ELP a near fall. TJP would hit a tornado DDT, before ELP blocked a jumping back kick and nailing an enziguri. ELP would block an attempt at Mamba Splash and tried for CR2 – only for TJP to block into the Pinoy Stretch. ELP would get free, before nailing CR2 for the victory.
Robbie Eagles Could Become A Belt Collector
Robbie Eagles is fresh off one of the best matches in his career against El Phantasmo, and will face another El tonight. El Lindaman has been really showing his skills in this tournament, and having a successful defence of his G-Rex Championship helped him to prove he’s one of the best in the world. Tonight, both men are still in the running, but Robbie Eagles has more to lose coming in at six points.
Lindaman would quickly take Eagles down to the mat to start this match, before having his wrist snatched. Eagles would lose control as Lindaman flaunted his power, tossing him aside. Waterwheel Drop would land, but Lindaman could not force the pinfall.
Rear chinlock would be applied, and the second Eagles tasted freedom, he’d take a kick to the back. Lindaman would throw a lariat but Eagles dodged and hit the Headscissor takedown. A double knee strike in the corner got nothing but padding, before Lindaman hit a snap judo toss into a DDT.
Lindman would follow up with a jaw shattering forearm smash, only for Eagles to hit the 619 to the back of the leg. Springboard dropkick was scouted, but Eagles landed on his feet out of the attempted German Suplex. Eagles would set up the 450 Splash to the leg, but missed and took an exploder suplex into the turnbuckle.
Turbo Backpack was the response, with Eagles going right into Ron Miller Special after a kickout. Knowing he was caught, Lindaman would tap out instantly. Eagles now beat the ROH Pure & Gleat G-Rex champions in this tournament.
