Ace Austin will feel more alone than ever tonight, as the X-Division Champion needs to take on SHO. House of Torture have handed SHO his last two victories, and could use the numbers edge to get him to eight points, and a chance to become champion as well. Austin is looking to remain on the the A-Block, having only lost a single match to Hiromu Takahashi – and could be able to shut down House of Torture tonight.
SHO Defeats Ace Austin All On His Own
To start the match, SHO would grab the pop up staff of Austin and hit him in the face. SHO sent Austin to the floor, and would drag him off far from the ring with a chair in hand. Austin would be thrown into a concrete wall, before SHO would look to use the trophy as a weapon.
Austin armed himself with a chair, and both men agreed to put their weapons down. SHO lunged for the chair, and while Austin posed with the trophy, SHO would use the steel chair. Austin would be thrown into a loading door, before SHO sprinted to the ring with the referee.
Austin broke the referees twenty count, before slipping right back outside. SHO would be hit with a PK to the jaw, before Austin nailed Soar to Glory. A young fun refused to give Austin a high five, but in the ring, Austin nailed the double jump roundhouse kick.
He’d call for The Fold, but SHO used the referee as a shield. House of Cards spiked SHO, and The Fold would see Austin thrown into the referee. SHO was able to use his wrench, but the referee was shockingly still down. In the ring, Austin took some time to regain his bearings after this cheap attack, while a new referee came to the ring.
Austin would kick out when pinned, before SHO locked in SnakeBite. SHO would force a referee stoppage, claiming the win – and perhaps a shot at the X-Division Championship as well. Add in having an important tie-breaker in the tournament, and this was a very good win for SHO.
Wheeler Yuta Continues To Perfect His Finishing Hold
Master Wato has his back to wall, and needs to keep winning to even have a chance to make the finals. Tonight, he faces a man who is the same age as him, but considered to be worlds above the skill set of Wato. Wheeler Yuta is the protege of his Blackpool Combat Club seniors, and has been like a sponge as he learns from the likes of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and William Regal. Add in his status as the ROH Pure Rules Champion – and Wato is going to be forced to level up for a chance to win tonight.
Yuta would kick things off with an armdrag, before Wato would run the ropes. He’d show some impressive speed into a hurricanrana before a jumping spin kick. Yuta baited Wato in by going to the top rope, and grasping the wrist for an armbreaker off the top rope.
Going after the arm of Wato would continue, but did little to stop a springboard uppercut from Wato. Yuta would bend the arm down into the mat, before being hit with Recientemente. This got a two count, before Wato blocked Cattle Mutilation and got a two count off a roll up. Wato would hit a High Angle German Suplex, before RPP missed.
Yuta would nail Painthriller, before the Hammer & Anvil Elbow strikes and the Seatbelt Pin held Wato in place for a three count. As Yuta refines that pinning finisher, it’s getting impossible to escape.
