YOH has already had a better start to his BOSJ tournament, having won his second match and is coming up against a man he’s gotten two prior wins over. Yoshinobu Kanemaru meanwhile, has been unable to get a win so far – and could be looking to attack the fragile confidence of YOH here tonight. If he can’t stop YOH, we might well see him get a seven match win streak through the block.
YOH Finds Some Liquid Courage On His Way To Victory
Kanemaru would attack from behind as YOH was still making his entrance. He didn’t want to give YOH a chance to see if he would try tonight or not. A brawl on the outside however would show a motivated YOH tonight, but a missed placha to the floor saw YOH jam that knee.
Kanemaru looked for Touchout on the floor, but instead just shoved him into a Young Lion, and got a 19 count. Back into the ring, Kanemaru would try and force an early pinfall, but YOH would be able to stay in the match. Kanemaru was laser focused on the knee before setting up the Figure Four Leg Lock.
YOH would struggle to the ropes, but the damage might have been done by the time he got free. He’d manage a Falcon Arrow, but winced in pain the whole way through. A set of German Suplexes would follow, but YOH was unable to hold the bridge pinfall.
Kanemaru would nail a moonsault, before British Fall for a near fall. Deep Impact would miss, and YOH had another chance in this match. The referee was shoved into YOH, before Kanemaru hit an enziguri. Santori Surprise would be set, but came from YOH instead! A superkick landed, and Direct Drive would follow for the win.
Hiromu Takahashi Keeps Hot Streak Alive
Both Hiromu Takahashi & Ace Austin have been able to maintain perfect records so far in the tournament, but tonight they clash in a first ever singles match. Hiromu might also be eyeing that X-Division championship, especially after Tomohiro Ishii challenged for the Impact Wrestling World Championship recently. Before he gets caught up in the dreams of gold however, he needs to hand Ace Austin a loss in tonight’s semi-main event.
Austin would look for a snapmare to start, but Hiromu was able to counter into a side headlock. Hiromu would lose the grip briefly, but was able to regain the hold. Austin would have his sharpened card stolen, but Hiromu was caught by the referee. He’d have an extra up his sleeve, and sliced between the fingers – out of view of the referee.
Austin would nail a knee drop to the back, before pressing the knee into the face of Hiromu. Hiormu was able to drop Austin with a hurricanrana before a dropkick. Sunset Bomb was blocked by Austin, before he’d nail the thrust kick to the face of Hiromu. Space Flying Tiger Drop would land, before Austin landed some lariats in the corner of the ring.
Double step kick would follow, before Austin hit the Tower Of Cards stomp. Hiromu would kick out, but Austin was ready to hit The Fold. Instead he took a pop up powerbomb. Hiromu would follow up with a lariat, and Victory Royale. Finally Time Bomb II would land, and Hiromu moves to six points.
