El Phantasmo & El Desperado came into tonight as clear potential finalists. With Robbie Eagles failing to defeat Titan means it’s winner takes all for the B-Block here. If things go to a draw, El Phantasmo would make the finals – but beyond that, whoever wins moves forward. Essentially, Desperado has thirty minutes to beat ELP, or he kisses the finals goodbye.
El Desperado Wins B-Block After Gutsy Performance
After some trash talk, ELP would make his way to the outside, clear he wanted the time limit draw. He would gladly play cat and mouse for half an hour, as ELP really doesn’t care about what the fans want. Desperado would almost catch ELP, before his fingers were snapped and back was raked.
A DDT onto the floor would follow, before ELP set up two clairs at ringside. CR2 onto the chairs would be blocked, and he was backdropped onto the pile. Dragon Screw Leg Whip in the ring would land, before Indian Deathlock was applied. ELP got free with an eye-rake, before throwing Desperado over the top rope.
Back into the ring, ELP would hit the springboard crossbody before missing the lionsault. Desperado would hit a spear, before Guitarra de Angel and an attempt at Numero Dos. A second Guitarra de Angel landed, before ELP sent Desperado to the outside and hit the diving splash.
Desperado rolled away from a second splash in the ring, before a chop block, dragon screw and Numero Dos. ELP broke free but took the spinebuster, and was fully completely trapped. He’d power his way free, only to be spiked with the Bastard Driver. 15 minutes were left on the clock, and ELP nailed Sudden Death, before CR2 got just a near fall.
ELP tried to hit Pinche Loco, but Desperado blocked and hit the straight right hand, Pinche Loco and CR2 for the finish. El Desperado will now be in the finals of BOSJ 29 on Friday.
Hiromu Takahashi Relies On His Highly Effective Submission Finisher
Hiromu Takahashi & Taiji Ishimori are far from strangers, having previously met in the finals of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. Tonight, they basically meet in A-Block finals, as they’re the only two with a chance of moving forward. Whoever wins moves to the finals to face El Desperado on Friday.
Ishimori quickly took this one out to the floor. He’d drive Hirmou into the ring post, before removing a corner pad in the ring. The shoulder would remain the focus of Ishimori in the ring, looking to soften up Hiromu for the Bone Lock. After some chops, Hiromu would hit the running hurricanrana sending Ishimori to the outside, before a shotgun dropkick off the apron.
Back into the ring, Falcon Arrow landed, getting a two count. Death Valley Driver into the corner would be blocked, with Ishimori hitting Complete Shot into the corner. Ishimori went for Cipher UTAKI but was blocked, before the running Destroyer spiked Hiromu.
They’d trade forearm blows, before Hiromu nailed the shotgun dropkick. Death Valley Driver into the corner would land before a pop-up powerbomb. Ishimori would be taken into D, but found the ropes. Bone Lock was attempted, but Hiromu would find the ropes. Cipher UTAKI would land, before Ishimori again got pulled into D.
He’d break free once again, and nailed the lariat. Reverse Bloody Sunday would land before La Mistica. Hiromu was desperate to get the ropes, but instead blocked into D before getting powerbombed. Once again locked into D, before taking the Stunner and being kept in the middle of the ring with D. Ishimori passed out, and Hiromu Takahashi won the A-Block.
