It’s all joy and excitement as Queen Elizabeth II was present at one of her favourite events of the year, the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The Queen was seen smiling, and occasionally chatting with friends as she watched the match. The Queen arrived in a Range Rover, dressed in a casual white top covered with a dark cardigan.
She also wore sunglasses and red lipstick. She leaned out of the Range Rover as she watched her horse, Balmoral Leia, compete. One could tell that the Queen loved the match as she has never missed one in 79 years. For this year’s event, 14 of the Queen’s horses are participating.
The Queen Makes Public Appearance For The First Time In A While
While the Queen stayed in her vehicle, well-wishers surrounded her, and some were able to have a moment to chat with the Queen who was full of smiles and giggles. Photographers, as well as other festival goers were excited to see the Queen hale and hearty and they captured the pristine moment with their cameras and mobile phones.
The Queen had not appeared in public since the service that was held to commemorate the life of her late husband. Also, based on Doctor’s instructions, the Queen had reduced her involvement in physical activities, sending members of the Royal family to stand in for her instead.
Yesterday, the first day of the Horse show, the Queen was absent but she had Princess Beatrice step in for her and ensure that the event goes “without a hitch.” Beatrice was rather excited to “play the role of the Queen.” While the Queen was not present for the Dress rehearsal, she was out visiting her horses.
Also, this week, Prince Charles took her place at the opening of the Parliament and gave a speech on behalf of the Queen. And on other occasions, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton have stood in for the Queen.
