The duo stayed together for eight months and then Guillermo proposed to her and she said yes, not minding the six-year age gap between them. Recently, Kara had a 10-year Highschool reunion with her classmates and this was filmed.

However, fans have noted some aspects of the event that do not add up. Firstly, fans complained about poor planning of the reunion as there were no games, awards or welcome committee which didn’t seem normal. Fans also noted that Kara’s ex-boyfriend, Kris’ presence at the event was not right as they were not in the same class. This has made fans conclude that the reunion was a sham and was only done so her ex could tell Guillermo about their time together in high school.

Meeting up with your ex from high school to talk about sex you had 10 years ago is a good time?” some other fans speculated that the people who were present were probably asked by TLC to stage the reunion as it is something the network has done in the past.
According to fans, the six-year gap between 29 years old Kara and her 23-year-old boyfriend is not enough for her to claim to be a cougar. Some have argued that she is not 30 yet and she only uses the term so she can exert some sort of dominance over Guillermo.
