This Sunday at Forbidden Door, many names have been unable to make the card due to injuries. Some of the biggest names include CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Tomohiro Ishii. However, both Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish are also missing for the card. As former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champions who even challenged for the NEVER Openweight Championships, NJPW fans would have loved to see them on the card –
Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish Are Both Injured
While appearing on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Tony Khan would speak about the recent injuries to both Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish.
“We’re going to make the best of a bad situation with injuries. A long list of big stars out. Now, with another injury, you have Bullet Club coming together to get some revenge on Sting & Darby. Kyle O’Reilly, getting taken out by Sting, that’s a real life legitimate injury and Kyle O’Reilly is out, not sure how long, but it’s a big loss and we were not expecting that.
He had been on fire for the company, it’s a big deal to lose Kyle O’Reilly. With Fish and O’Reilly being out, Fish just had a great main event with Darby on Rampage, that’s another big loss for the company, Fish, we expect back sooner from that ankle injury than O’Reilly with his injuries. Neither one is available for the pay-per-view. Kyle O’Reilly, we hope to get back soon. Bobby Fish, I know is going to be back soon.”
It is very likely that reDRagon would have been teaming with the new AEW World Tag Team Championships, The Young Bucks at Forbidden Door. We could have even see O’Reilly in an even bigger match, as Khan noted O’Reilly getting injured caused major shifts in the card.
Both men are hopefully going to be back in action very soon, but some BULLET CLUB members could hang about in AEW to fill their roles in the Undisputed Elite during the G1 Climax, possibly even IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori.
