Adam Cole might have abandoned Bobby Fish last week, but that’s okay – they’re best friends. Usage of that term brought some hostility from The Best Friends faction. Cole claimed Wheeler Yuta doesn’t even have friends, but OC would step up… and now we have a tag team match. We’ve seen feuds come from less, and these four are as talented as they come – so why the hell not!
Adam Cole Spoils The Fun Of Orange Cassidy
Yuta would kick the action off with Fish, able to take him down with an ankle pick. Fish would be able to fight Yuta’s grappling attempt, and lay some strikes in before taking a dropkick. Yuta got a tag to OC, and they hit some slow paced tag team offense. OC would be met by Adam Cole, who tried to steal the spotlight, while keeping hands out of pockets.
Cole would get outwrestled once OC got the hold of his wrist, and would continue to prevent him from getting the hands in. OC would use some World Of Sport style grappling to get a two count on Cole, before tagging Yuta in. Cole was sent to the corner, and Yuta hit two quick splashes while OC slowly stalked in to toss Cole into a scoop slam.
Yuta would find himself in the wrong part of town soon after, with Cole nailing the Ushigoroshi and Fish some heavy and well placed strikes. Fish doesn’t waste many motions in the ring, and Yuta was feeling this with every strike and suplex. He’d be able to nail an enziguri to get an attempt at the tag, but Fish was right there to make sure OC stayed on the apron.
Bobby Fish Does The Deal!
Yuta would continue to fight, nailing a double dropkick from the second rope and had another attempt at the tag. Both men were down and no one could stop the tag to OC. He got hands in pockets and nailed those deadly leg kicks before picking the pace up for a double hurricanrana, before kicking off Cole to hit a DDT on Fish. He’d nail tandem dives with Yuta, before hitting the crossbody and setting up the top rope splash from Yuta – only getting two.
Cole would nail a pump kick and figured Yuta was out of the ring, but he held on and bounced back in. German Suplex landed and OC used this to get a Jacknife pin for a two count. Fish broke the pinfall up, before suplexing Yuta onto OC. Cole nailed the flying knee, before Fish turned it into a kneebar. OC fought free and nailed Beach Break on Cole, before trying for Orange Punch – and being driven into the corner with an exploder instead.
Yuta made the tag and nailed the Angle slam, before nailing a tight Northern Lights Bomb for a two count! He was having his best AEW showing yet, but Cole crotched him on the top rope. Cole was sent into the steel steps twice, and Fish looked for a superplex, turning it into a top rope Falcon Arrow for the win!
Match Rating: 4/5 (****)
After the match, we’d hear from the Undefeated Tony Nese. He’s been scouting the TNT Champion Sammy Guevara for weeks, while racking up wins on Dark. If men like Ethan Page or Jay Lethal did proper scouting – Guevara wouldn’t be champion. As if on cue, Guevara showed up and accepted the challenge. Nese would drop Guevara, and tell him he’s only champion because men like him weren’t available yet. This should be a good one.
