You cannot become the richest person in the world overnight, or without having a particular strict regime by which you abide no matter what. Being a rich and powerful person, you strive for your children to follow in your footsteps and continue the path you are walking. But how can they do that if they are doing ‘unproductive’ things?
Having disciplined children is the wish of all parents. The billionaire and perfectionist Elon Musk is the master of self-discipline and obviously a master in disciplining his children.

The billionaire once caught his son playing a video game that according to him was not so productive. He immediately asks his son to delete the video game, since ‘all it requires is for you to click on a cookie’. Doing something what is not helping you develop physically, and moreover, intellectually is a complete no-no for Musk.
This is not to be taken the wrong way. Elon does allow his kids to play video games and he is a fan of video games himself. But as in everything else he likes to find meaning and productiveness in video games as well.
In a past interview, Elon opens up about the disciplining method that he uses on his children. Elon states that most of all, he likes his children to not miss out on anything in life. However, he does think that making up for the hours of entertainment they have is important as well, in order for them to become serious and responsible adults. To achieve this, for every hour of entertainment, he asks his children to add an hour of reading or learning. That way, he establishes a perfect balance between both fun and personal development.
Being one of the most famous people in the world, it is strange how Elon’s children are not included in the media. Somehow, the billionaire succeeds in successfully ‘hiding’ them from the media and allowing them to have a peaceful, yet full life.
The media attention has once, or twice include his children, but not for the reasons you’d think. The naming of his and Grimes’s children is the thing that attracts the most attention. He names his son X Æ A-Xii, and most recently his daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl. These unusual and original names are something that he and his partner are very proud of. At home, they refer to their son as X, and as expected, they refer to their daughter as Y. So aside from having cool unusual names, Elon’s children have unique nicknames as well.
Regardless of whether they have media attention, or not, the most important thing is that they have their father’s attention. Having him discipline them the way he says he does, will make them serious and professional in their later life. And as we can all presume, Elon’s wish is for his children to exceed his fame and success.
