Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to not comment about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade has gotten many people talking.

The new decision has the impact of allowing individual states to decide whether or not abortion should be legal, as opposed to it being a Federal right across the board.
And given that the couple have spoken on major events such as the Russia-Ukraine crisis and their support for the Covid-19 vaccination programme, the fact that such a seismic decision has not been met with a statement has been scrutinised.
This begs the question: what could be the reason for the silence? Well, Meghan has been accused of meddling into United States politics.
Her previous attempts at advocating paid parental leave in the United States did not go down very well. So much so that Republican Jason Smith hinted that the Duchess of Sussex should have had her title removed.
In his comments at the time, he said: “Ms. Markle’s latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles.”
In addition, it could be argued that there is no need to comment on controversial matters. The same could be seen with Prince William.
He had brazenly damaged those that had been impacted by the Jeffrey Epstein scandal when he refused to answer whether he supported his uncle Prince Andrew in light of his sexual assault scandal.
And in fact, William simply decided to walk off leaving the reporter and the victims with no answer. With that being said, there was no expectation on the couple to speak on this issue.
One social media user commented: “Let me explain something to you people. Meghan and Hary don’t OWE you anything. THEY DON’T OWE YOU THEIR REACTION TO ROE V WADE. Do you understand this??”
