Fans have come out to make comparisons between Princess Diana and Meghan Markle’s bullying claims.
Fans Sympathise With Meghan Markle’s Royal Persecution By Drawing Parallels With Diana-‘Proven Princess Diana Right’
In 2020, the Duchess of Sussex was allegedly accused of bullying two members of royal staff during the course of her time in the institution.
While an inquiry was launched in that regard, Buckingham Palace have made it clear that they will not publish the findings. Much in the same way, the late Princess Diana had also faced similar accusations.
Reports indicated that Diana had apparently had issues with some nannies that were getting too close with Prince William and Prince Harry. Not only that, but Diana was also alleged to have been involved in making sure that some staff members departed.
Andrew Morton, who happens to be a royal biographer, had this to say: “Diana had gone from being a fairytale princess to – according to less charitable accounts – a ‘fiend’ and a ‘little monster’.
“Other commentators talked about ‘Malice in the Palace.” In both cases involving the accusations of bullying, Meghan and Diana denied doing anything of the sort.
Diana had allegedly countered by saying: “I don’t just sack people,” while Meghan’s lawyer Jenny Afia denied that the Duchess was capable of such a thing: “What bullying actually means is improperly using power to hurt someone.
“The Duchess has absolutely denied doing that.” It is not surprising that the fans on social media began to draw parallels between Meghan and Diana.
In the process of doing so, they felt that Meghan was defying the establishment just as Diana had done. One person wrote: “Meghan and Harry are the fairy tale of modern times.
“Their love , courage and going against all odds inspires all of us and defines real love. They have proven Princess Diana right.”
While another person stated: “She got a wonderful Prince who is following Princess Diana’s steps, the Queen of hearts. Meghan and Harry, you are loved.”
