Right now, the wrestling world is focused on Jeff Hardy – and tragically not for good reasons. The AEW star recently was arrested for his third DUI in ten years. AEW have already pulled him from any advertising materials, and have stopped promoting the upcoming Triangle Ladder Match that was set to take place on Wednesday featuring The Hardys, The Young Bucks, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express. Now, we have the comments of brother Matt Hardy on this incident involving his brother.
Matt Hardy Knows Recovery Isn’t A Linear Process – Will Continue To Help His Brother Be Healthy
Matt Hardy would share the following comments on Twitter about his brother.
“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday. Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.”
This is sadly something that is not uncommon to hear between Matt and his brother, with Jeff having an incredibly troubled life with drugs and alcohol issues. It’s unlikely to ruin the AEW career of Matt Hardy. But any chance of ending his career alongside his brother with one last big tag title run has likely gone down the drain.
No Current Plans Announced For The AEW World Tag Team Championship Match
AEW has not yet announced the new plans for the AEW World Tag Team Championship Match for tomorrows episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans are split on simply wanting to see Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express in a ladder match, or wanting a team like FTR added in to keep the plans for a Triangle Ladder match around. Tony Khan has been known to announce matches and segments up until the show airs. Something will come between now and then.
