Mick Foley is one of the best spoken, humble, and kind people in the world, and he’s shared his near countless wrestling stories for years.
He’s often said he’s been waiting for people in the room to get tired of his stories, but no one has and now he’s agreed to launch a new podcast on June 3, 2002 with Conrad Thompson as his co-host.
Mick Foley Launches Foley is Pod Podcast
He like to have his shows be an escape for people and not delve too deep into things. He wants to bring smiles to people’s faces and we’re looking forward to listening to his stories.
The NY Post published an article about the launch on May 24, 2022, and at the time it was reported that they had 13 episodes taped and ready to go.
Sharing his stories
In the above mentioned NY Post article, Mick talked about telling his stories at the various venues and how it morphed into his first podcast.
“It’s been a really natural chemistry and something. Especially for those people who are in-depth fans who choose to get the video in addition to the audio, they will see the smile on my face is very genuine and it’s very obvious that I enjoy doing the podcast.
“I realized I really enjoyed telling my stories on the stage across the country and different countries around the world. I think it just took a little bit of encouragement that there was a market for taking a stroll down memory lane through my career.
“I think one of the things that really helped me in my career is that fans felt they knew me and liked me not just as a character, but as a person. Therefore, I think they will feel like they are spending some time with an old friend.”
2000 No Way Out
Mick’s first show will cover the 2000 No Way Out pay-per-view and his match against Triple H in a Hell in a Cell where Mick put his career on the line.
For this match, Mick donned his Cactus Jack persona and they pulled out all the stops in a brutally awesome match , that included Mick being thrown off the top and threw a announce table and backdropped through the top of the cage and broke the mat.
On the show, Mick talked about getting a decent sendoff and how others like Lita were treated cruelly and only recently got a proper send off as the WWE didn’t do it often for many of their legends at the time.
