The G1 Climax 32 is quickly approaching, starting on July 16th. During Dominion 6.12, we would find out that this years tournament would contain 28 of the top wrestlers from around the globe. Newcomers like El Phantasmo, Tom Lawlor, and Aaron Henare, as well as the expected names like Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jay White, Tetsuya Naito, and G1 Climax 31 winner Kazuchika Okada. However, with four blocks – each man will only have six matches to determine the finals, setting a maximum point total of 12 this year. Tonight during a New Japan Road event, we’d learn the layouts of four blocks.
All Four Blocks For G1 Climax 32 Revealed
Starting with A-Block, we have Kazuchika Okada, Toru Yano, Jeff Cobb, Bad Luck Fale, Lance Archer, Jonah & Tom Lawlor. Basically we have Okada, all the big men in the tournament, and Toru Yano. Either Jeff Cobb or Kazuchika Okada is expected to come out on top here. Cobb only lost to Okada in the G1 Climax 31, with a 9-1 record coming out of the tournament.
The B Block seems to be centered around IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White. Joining him is Great-O-Khan, Taichi, Chase Owens, Tomohiro Ishii, SANADA, and Tama Tonga. The Jay White win in this block feels obvious, but SANADA and Tama Tonga aren’t to be overlooked.
C-Block meanwhile, is absolutely stacked. KENTA, Zack Sabre Jr, Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Aaron Henare & EVIL make up the block. When the weak worker of the group is EVIL, who can be an incredible brawler when not relying on Dick Togo? You’re going to find many of the best matches of the tournament. This one is impossible to call.
Finally, the D-Block brings El Phantasmo, Will Ospreay, Shingo Takagi, YOSHI-HASHI, Juice Robinson, Yujiro Takahashi, and David Finlay. Fans are already ready to circle whichever date Ospreay vs. Shingo lands on, as that could be the match that decides the block, with them both as clear favorites to win the block, and a dire tie breaker.
Match dates will be announced tomorrow. Which block has the most exciting matches for you? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
