One of the biggest stars in AEW from the very start has been Orange Cassidy. His unique personality and charisma initially made him a hard sell for some fans, but he’s consistently proven his ability to both connect with fans and over deliver in the ring. Another aspect that made him a major star was a licensed theme song. Orange Cassidy has been coming to the ring to “Where Is My Mind” by The Pixies, putting him alongside Jon Moxley, Jungle Boy, and HOOK for having licensed theme songs. However a small aspect of that is about to change.
Orange Cassidy To Use Jane By Jefferson Starship Going Forward
Orange Cassidy will be using “Jane” by Jefferson Starship going forward in AEW, and this is something fans have been wanting from the start. This was his most common theme song on the indies, and arguably the song that best fits his unique presentation due to this. He will be using this song starting at Forbidden Door for his match with Will Ospreay. It will also be used for every match going forward.
Where this leaves ‘Where Is My Mind’ is up in the air. When Tony Khan originally licensed it for Orange Cassidy a year ago, he would note that it was a ’multi-year agreement to use the song. It’s possible it becomes the theme song of another wrestler, perhaps even the theme of Trent Beretta in singles action. Tony Khan likely won’t let this go to waste, as this is not a situation like licensing “Ol ‘55” by Tom Waits to use for the tribute video package to Brodie Lee.
Regardless of what this means for hearing The Pixies again on AEW TV, fans are excited to hear the theme song that is still connected to Orange Cassidy. We will see Orange Cassidy in action tonight, as he wrestles Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Championship at Forbidden Door.
