Prince William’s controlling behaviour has been credited for exacerbating the rift between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

According to reports, Kate Middleton has been trying to play the role of a peacemaker by even reaching out to Harry to invite him for William’s 40th summer birthday bash which Queen Elizabeth II is hosting.
While that may be the case, it is not clear if Meghan is going to attend too. But in any event, things have been complicated by the presence of William.
An insider stressed that William was very controlling in the Royal family, but once Meghan came and left, that has not been the case.
One such insider said the following: “William’s quite controlling, and he was in control when it was just the three of them, but now he’s not.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, it would indicate an attempt by William to exert his authority by virtue of the fact that he is in line for the throne later down the line.
Secondly, it may also demonstrate why he refused to make eye contact with Harry during the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Having said that, though, the insider did not claim that Meghan came out with her hands clean. And given that she is an actress, there was an implication that perhaps the Duchess of Sussex was using things for her own benefit.
The insider added: “I personally wouldn’t overegg Meghan’s role in all this because it’s unfair, but equally she knows what she’s doing as an actress from Hollywood.”
The response on social media was critical of William. A certain subset of the public felt that William’s behaviour was more focused on getting his own back rather than trying to establish a reconciliation.
One person wrote: “Harry is living his best life and he is surrounded with only best people who love him. Clearly, Williams just wants to scapegoat his brother and make his life hell.
